Arrived at opening time (11am) as we had been to the hospital for an appointment and were hungry as had not yet had breakfast
There was a primary school trip which was happening and we were told we might have to wait while they were finishing up with them. Not a problem at all. I work in hospitality so I’m pretty understanding of such things
When the order was taken all seemed well, asked for extra water as we had finished what was given to us when we arrived, the next glasses that come out the water is lukewarm! Not great especially on a hot day. They did add ice to cool it down but not the point really, it’s all about the little touches which really help shape the dining experience
Food starts to come out as it does in dribs and drabs from the kitchen, no issue with this as I know this is how Wagamamas operates. We’ve had 2 starters and my daughters mains and still no sign of my dish! My daughter has finished hers and mine eventually comes out around 20 minutes later
I order the salmon soba noodles as it’s my favourite dish, I literally love it and try to change my choice each time but keep coming back to it
Well when it arrived I was totally underwhelmed! I honestly think the fish took so long as they were defrosting it, either that or they need to get a fresh delivery of salmon! Lukewarm fish and the noodles barely any heat there either! Considering it should have been in a wok a few minutes before serving I would have expected much more steam and even flavour
I usually dine at the Trowbridge Wagamamas and I have never experienced this sub standard level of food! This is the 3rd time I have eaten in the Bath restaurant and I can safely say each time something has not been right with the food compared to my experiences elsewhere especially the Trowbridge branch
I told a waitress and she was apologetic and did offer to have it made for me again, however after a bite of the salmon and noodles I had totally lost my appetite so just asked for it to be removed from my bill
I work in hospitality and I seldom complain unless something is really bothering me!My daughter was surprised at my reaction as I am usually tucking straight into the salmon when it arrives, this time however it was not a happy dance food arriving moment and the salmon looked a sorry sight
The reason for this review is that because it’s the Bath restaurant I know they will just continue to get customers and will probably not really take this on board
I told the waitress to not bring it up with the chef incase he got offended and it’s not something I wanted her to have to deal with the fall out of, so hopefully this review will be enough for the kitchen to maybe take a little extra care over cooking the food as I work in a restaurant myself and I know what cooked salmon looks like and unfortunately it wasn’t what I’m used too
I shall not return to the Bath restaurant but will continue to use other branches as I love their...
Read moreA big fan of Wagamama but NOT ANYMORE until we visited this branch. We were ignored for long in the entrance while some of the staff were busy chatting and there was lots of empty spaces. I approached one of the staff to ask if we can just sit on any empty tables as we've been waiting for ages, but only told to wait and took ages to wait again. Very good location and atmosphere but the food service is very slow and poor. We waited long for our orders, took very long to arrive the chicken katsu for my parents but took another 22mins to wait for the ramen. Moreover, everyone was almost finished eating but my partner's noodles still did not arrived for that long period of wait. It was a very bad experienced for a well-known restaurant. My partner decided to cancel his noodles as everyone was finished and waiting for his. I thought we are the only costumers who experienced this but reading the reviews of others seems like there's a problem with their branch management. Everyone has to wait for their food, which means you can't enjoy your food together. We highlighted our concerns to one of the managers (she claimed but no name badge). She was very kind and apologetic. The noodles came out the kitchen as we decided to leave, and they offered us to take the noodles with us for free but we REFUSED. At the end, the manager offered discount and gift voucher for apologies. That was kind of her however, we wont be able to use the voucher as it can only be use in wagamama Bath, we don't live in Bath. Anyways, I just hope that the management will look into the reviews of their costumers and do...
Read moreWagamama is my go to chain for food. I love food places where you can see and smell the food being cooked fresh to order and delivered to your table. I especially love how easy Wagamama makes it for Soul Club members to pay by App. I have visited many in cities and towns from London to Dorchester and Bristol to Salisbury. On Monday it was time to revisit Bath Wagamama in one of my favourite cities on a cold grey damp Monday. Always an early bird for lunch, we were soon seated by the window, outer garments hung up conveniently on the hooks provided. I adore the duck donburi - £19:00 and my partner the shirodashi ramen - £16:00. I pigged out opting to try out the new hot honey chicken -teriyaki (corlander) - £9.00. The staff are attentive and super-friendly and soon our drinks arrived swiftly followed by our dishes one-by-one as is the Wagamama USP. Wow, I knew my main would be delicious and we both tucked-in enjoying the warmth of a lovely welcome and seating experience and the heat of our dishes. I checked my Soul Club app and was delighted to find I’d earned a free side which I swear made the hot chicken taste even more delicious! The portion was big so our waitress brought a food to go container and I squirrelled away several pieces to enjoy later. Washed down with drinks it was easy to pay via the app, coats on and it was time to hit the streets and passages of Bath and walk-off our delicious lunch. No surprise as Wagamama Bath is consistently great, but on a cold, damp and grey Monday at noon, it gave us the ultimate Wagamama dining experience and I love...
