A little jewel of place in which to spend an hour, in on a wet afternoon or any afternoon. Entry is free... Its great for the disabled..there is a special side door and lift...of course you have a group of supercillious staff ....who float about with a superior air ...As if you have entered into some private space...their space...the little piece of the world they control utterly, as they make the difference to the days...in the dusty confines inside a museum...but you should regard these custoadians as theatre...performance art...they are almost comeadic. But don't be be put off, embrace the experience...its small...but really rather good

Rude. Dismissive. Possibly sexist. And definitely actively incompetent. Worst gallery ever (probably). I took time off work to go all the way to Bath to support a friend who got into a show. Booked the 7:30-8:30 time slot for the private view, only to be told at the door that the hour time slot was in fact a half hour time slot for entry and doors closed at 8pm (we arrived at 8:06) Was mansplained that this was definitely the case because some guy said so, and that it was “clearly labelled on the ticket AND website” and then when I asked where (showing them my ticket and the booking page) so I wouldn’t make the mistake again (that cost me pay and fuel, and meant I had to wait for 30mins in the cold and rain for my friends) they couldn’t find anything. But also still wouldn’t let me in. After 15mins of them telling me I was absolutely correct but couldn’t come in anyway, while my friends stood there on the other side of the hall - the man who was making this decision (no longer the security guard who agreed with me) who may or may not have worked for/with the museum (seemed to just be some random guy), told me “he’d fix it for next time” but still wouldn’t let me in. I laughed and told him there would not be a next time. That I wouldn’t be coming back again, or applying as an artist to anything associated with such a bad museum again, to which he responded that his museum was great and that that was “my decision” and that “there’s nothing wrong with his museum” whilst walking off. I said “I wouldn’t know because he wouldn’t let me in to see it. He turned back to reply, but I left to go do something better with my friends. Would not recommend. Wait time 1+ hrs: Still waiting… Do you recommend buying tickets in advance: No, their admission times mean nothing anyway. Save time and petrol, don’t bother going at all! :) (Photos of email confirmation and attached ticket to show that no where does it mention an 8pm cap to admission and tickets were sold in 1hr blocks. Also the only two reference I could find for the event times online and that was after a deep dive)

Sometimes art museums are my thing, sometimes not. Like the Bath Fashion Museum, this was an inexpensive add on to my Roman Baths Museum ticket. Right now, they have the Rumors of War exhibit which is actually quite interesting as it showcased work from a selection of artists who interpreted through their works everything from the worry, terror, catastrophic, and downright ordinary for the people and soldiers of Great Britain during WW II and shortly after. The rest of the Museum showcased work from the time of Henry VIII forward. I admittedly breezed through that part so that I could get back to the Roman Baths Museum.

It was a small gallery but the collection was good and especially I could get a kind guide to the works. If you were interested in paintings about Bath or from Bath, it would be interesting. You can meet Gainsborough who gained huge fame in Bath, Jone Nash painted the scenery of Bath etc. It's not crowded here and you can also enjoy drawing quietly. It takes about an hour to look around here. It would be nice to stop by while sightseeing the Guildhall and Pulteney bridge. (The permanent exhibition on the first floor is free of charge, and a special exhibition on the ground floor requires tickets.)

Fantastic Kaffe Fassett and Candace Bahooth exhibition. Beautifully curated in a great setting. Lots of thought had gone into the displays and they worked brilliantly. The building itself is interesting and very well presented, with a lovely shop. We had a warm welcome from staff as we arrived and an extremely helpful and knowledgeable guide gave us extra info and answered our questions in the exhibition. Really enjoyable.

Included in the Saver Ticket from The Roman Baths website. You are able to visit this lovely, relaxing and contemporary art collection from modern to heritage and vintage art and everything else in between. There is a large variety of different art pieces. Upstairs is art work from olden times and downstairs was an exhibition that you could vote for the best art piece. Hugely interesting and eye opening environment.
