Went here for lunch. We always like to try somewhere different and this place is always packed. We were early today so got a table straight away. I had the special which was Seafood Chowder and my wife had the Lasagne. Both meals were superb. The lasagne was tasty and well presented and the Seafood Chowder was easily the best I've ever had. My wife had a soda water and lime and I had half a Guinness which was excellent too. Will definitely look for another empty table next time.

Pub food in Belfast is very samey and while there is a decent selection here, £14 for pie and mash is an expensive enough lunch, albeit this is the going rate these days. Queens cafe bar was busy, staff were flat out but remained friendly and the food was decent if not spectacular. A nice little bar in a nice location.

Handy little spot. Called in for a couple of pints whilst the wife was spending my money. A very civilised little pub

Went here for a bite to eat after some shopping with the other half as she had been a few times before with her Mum and always had a good experience. Upon entering we waited by the please wait to be seated sign for a few minutes, there were two staff behind the bar that just ignored our presence. I understand if they are busy but a 'Hello' is all that is needed. After one of the staff walked past us without a glance we decided to go for walk about. It was then that we were greeted by a friendly male staff member coming down the stairs and he showed us a table to sit at and said he would have menus sent over, unfortunately we did not see this waiter again. The menus were brought over (one of them was quite dirty) and specials were read out and then the waitress ran off. I would have liked to order drinks but no chance. We decided what we wanted to order pretty quickly, then we waited and waited for the order to be taken. Finally it was, the waitress that gave me the menus had been told to by another colleague, which she did while holding the dirty plates from the table she had been clearing. 30 seconds after leaving she was back to reconfirm aspects of the order as she obviously didn't write it down. The food came in good time and this was definitely the high point, it was good pub grub, plenty of flavour good size portion. Great, shame we had no cutlery to eat it with when it was put on our table and the waitress ran off to tell the first waitress to bring it over. The cutlery was brought over and we weren't asked if we wanted anything else, sauces etc. Turns out they were out of red sauce anyway, even though there is a supermarket 50 yards down the road. That was the last time we had any contact with staff, no one checked how our meal was, no one asked if we wanted more drinks even though my empty glass sat in front of me for half my meal. Paid at the bar, weren't asked how our meal was when we were paying. Feel sorry for the chefs, they were let down horribly by the service when we visited. On another day it may...

I Can't comment on their food. My problem is how they treat customers. My son and myself arrived for abit of lunch and a couple of pints. Apon arriving I noticed a free table and waited to be shown, the waiter stated they had no tables free but if we waited someone was just finishing and we could have that. I asked if tables can be booked as there was one free. His replie "thats for 3 ppl and as there is only 2 of you you cant use it. But we where welcome to wait. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so told him no thanks we'll go elsewhere. Luckily we ended up in the Morning Star where we were made very welcome and a lovely lunch. Won't be rushing back to the Queens...

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here. I had long said when I got to Ireland I was going in an Irish pub and ordering a pint of Guinness (even though I don't like ANY beer). I ordered my pint, as expected, it was awful, but the cute young waiter was very kind, offered me a little black current cordial in my pint, which amazingly mellowed the beer, and then he brought me a cup of tea "on him". We also had fish and chips, caught fresh that morning, and it was absolutely delicious! I'd forgotten how great it is to live near the ocean. The food was great, and the service was absolutely the Irish welcome I'd been...
