Very mixed bag. Depending on the day, this is either a very well run and amazing pub or a shambles overrun by 18-21 year olds. The food is always okay, when it actually arrives, and I have never fault the drinks or the staff on the bar. However, the floor team needs a major overhaul. Noticed a spike in younger employees which is okay except they can rarely handle the workload needed for busier periods and I often find a newer chap walking around aimlessly or hiding meekly in the glass washing area. Also had an experience with a rather tall and larger lady who had the cheek to insult my son when he ordered an ice cream sundae to himself stating ‘are you going to eat all of that?’. That is wholly unacceptable and it took everything in me not to get her minimum wage rescinded. Beer garden/ play areas are good but the heaters are dysfunctional and will either barely spit out a stroke heat or blast you with the full might of the Sahara. Events here are usually a no go for anyone who likes orderly conduct as if any sort of football or kids event is on it is shambolic and i often feel as though customers are being rammed into a tin like sardines. Breakfast is okay but generally mid especially compared to cheaper or better quality breakfasts available from greaseyspoons or Wetherspoons in the area. Also find that alot of the sauce bottles are left empty and not replenished enough. Generally a good pub when off peak times, the six weeks will be rough for anyone...
Read moreThis is easily one of the worse meals that I've ever had in a pub. My pasta was seriously undercooked, it was almost rock hard and stuck together, my chicken tasted okay though but it should have been warmer.
My partner had an issue where the food was not very warm, actually the chicken was basically near cold in the centre, the grilled tomato was probably grilled for less than a minute as it was cold and as tuff as old boots.
My mother in-law had the same as my partner, she had 2 lots of chicken, but one chicken was plain when it should have been like the second chicken which had bacon and sauce on it, her grilled tomato was cold as well. By the way all our plates were hotter than the food itself, but that was not difficult to achieve as the food was not very warm at all, terrible.
It's a shame really as the pub itself is extremely nice and clean, a really nice place to visit. The staff are really nice and helpful too. The staff did offer to get the manager for us, but as I was not in the best of moods I said no thank you, I really didn't want to get in an dispute with the manager when I was already annoyed with the food, what a shame.
As my in-laws lives opposite the Beeches, we might go there again, if we do and the meal is nice I will change my review, but the chef and the food last week was definitely not...
Read moreWe meet here regularly for lunch and it is clean, well spaced out and feels safe.
All the staff are lovely, very helpful. Sometimes they don't have everything on the menu but that's the case with covid everywhere affecting deliveries, but there are always alternatives and plenty of choice.
Food arrived quickly and was good, also reordered extra drinks with no wait. Attentive but not in your face.
Staff are always friendly, especially the blonde lady who brings us our food and checks on us. She always has a little chat.
Nice place to meet friends for an inexpensive meal, sarnie or snack. Only 2 disabled spaces which are sometimes both taken, annoying as I use a wheelchair van with ramp for my powerchair and need room away from main route through car park, but I'd say 4 times out of 5 I can get a space.
Disabled toilet is fantastic. You need a radar key, but it big enough to turn round in my power chair and lock and I can use it safely on my own with grab bars, sink and dryer. Independence matters!
Nothing stored in here either! As most places use their disabled loo as a dumping ground, but it's immaculate, always clean and the door locks properly, so one less thing to worry about! Would recommend as the pub has a cosy easy...
