It's a shame really.
So I've been here twice now and the 2nd time I am now feeling the same effect as the other people who have had a negative experience.
Highlights:
Pros - food & presentation is nice Cons - cash only non helpful staff non apologetic staff members when they give you wrong info sending you to said cash machine that's actually closed you don't really feel welcome or are treated in a way that would make you want to come back again service needs to match the vibe they're trying to achieve check out the other low rated reviews...there's a pattern
So context, because we all need that eh?
We came on a Sunday pretty late (no booking) just after 4pm, we were one of 3 customers in total so it was super quiet unlike the usual busy periods. We were greeted politely, seated and told quite promptly by a waitress that they only take cash and there's a cash machine 30sec walk away at the co op but they recommend we place our order 1st then go get cash which is fair. Cash only business in this day and age where the menu is looking 'premium priced' is just an inconvenience at this stage but whatever I'll get the cash later.
Placed the order and I asked how much the bill would be in advance so I can get the cash and was told by the same waitress that she'll bring it after the order (plot twist she didnt).
I went to get money out, the co op was closed and no cash machine in sight (homeless guy told me the co ops closed now and that's why I wont be able to take cash out). The nearest other cash machine is a mile away.
Great, so I went back to explain the situation to be shown an option to pay by bank transfer by a different waitress. Like why would you not show me this before?? And why did you send me to a cash machine that's closed in the 1st place?? The waitress who gave me the bad info on the cash machine was in earshot and said nothing. Meanwhile my pregnant wife with our 2 year old asked for the food to be taken away (remember the days when you could ask for that and they'd take your plates away and pack it for you?) yeah no! she had to pack it herself, this is something I'm seeing more and more of these days, you know it costs nothing to be kind and just help someone out, would it kill you to just pack the food away or were they just completely rushed off their feet? If it was busy then fair enough but there's literally minimal customers so you couldn't just do that for someone? A small but annoying point that bothered me more than the cash situation.
Fine I do the bank transfer, my phone screen has glitched 2 days prior and while I wait for a new one I try to use the screen as best I can to do the transfer, the 2nd waitress apologised (not her fault so she shouldnt have to apologise) and gave me a copy of the receipt so I knew the correct amount. Paid eventually and went back to the counter to say I did...then I was asked to show confirmation...now you tell me? Fine, I managed to get to my current account and show the amount being transferred. My screen is literally just bright white where you can barely see any text etc so once the 2nd waitress saw the payment she said that's fine.
I just feel that these things really let the business down, when I was in hospitality If I did any of the things mentioned then I would've got shafted by the shift manager and then the business manager. Customers are NOT always right, neither are staff.
P.S: I know this review won't make a shred of difference, but please trust that if I took the time to write a negative one like this, it's because I have...

Didn't bother telling them at this point as service seemed too slow and we was hungry to eat. When we was waiting half hour in we asked how much longer for food, the staff said another half hour. Then we told her we have been waiting half hour already. The staff turned around and said no you haven't. You just came. We was shocked. She didn't serve us so she wouldn't know. And secondly she was basically calling the customers liars. Then she said OK she will go check. She then came back and said 5minutes till we get the food.
Anyway the food was nice. Presentation was good. Cute pretty cafe. But if you want more Privacy and to be able to talk, this place is no good when it's full. It's a small cafe and table is very close to the next ones. We told them at the end that the service was slow and tea was cold. The lady just said..should have told us. Would have re warmed it. And that it's just that busy time that's why service was slow. However when I went down the first time for brunch time...service was almost as slow. We only got Turkish breakfast which was mostly dippings. Does not take great deal of time to put together. By the way, that dish was not worth the money with mainly dippings, cheese and aload of bread to fill you. Was dissapointed with that one but i guess thats how turkish people eat. Half of the cafe was empty at that time we went to have the turkish.
I can understand the business is new and need more practice to speed up the service. Hope they do otherwise it won't last at this rate. For me, I won't be going back. The service killed it. Was meant to get a dessert after but didnt have time left. But congratulations to cheeseandchai in opening peaches. Pray...
Read moreArrived midday and was very busy, looked cute inside and food looked very presentable. Manager took our order, we waited for drinks nearly 20 mins after ordering, then our American pancakes came out about 10 min after. My little sister ordered white choc pancakes & when they arrived it was milk choc. We explained to server this wasn’t what we ordered. The manager actually came back to the table IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS, to argue that we had in fact ordered what they’d made. So I said to her, are you saying you can’t change it? My sister was very uncomfortable at this point as the manager had caused such a scene. She agreed to keep the milk choc even though this isn’t what she wanted or ordered. The manager said she would bring some white choc to add on top??? Neither of us were happy with this however she made it very uncomfortable and didn’t offer to change the pancakes over so my sister had no choice.
The pancakes were then very dry. This whole situation ruined our experience as she took the order wrong and then tried to argue with us about it. When I went to pay, I told the manager I wasn’t happy with the service or food. She said I was rude to her (which I wasn’t I just asked for it to be changed to white choc, I was shocked she was arguing to be honest) I told her this is bad customer service, she then smiled in my face and said ‘if you say so, have a good day’ She was very argumentative and had no resolution / not helpful at all. For 2 milkshakes, 2 pancakes and some hash brown bites the total was £46. To pay this much and not be happy, then tell the manager and have no resolution is shocking to me. Obviously as they were busy she just wanted to get the next customer in so they could make some more money… Also cash only which is quite dodgy in my opinion. Maybe this is why they don’t care...
