Honestly, not a great experience here. The burger itself was fantastic but unfortunately not good enough to make up for everything else. First off, their toilets are closed. After reading a few other reviews this is something I would’ve expected to be sorted since the closest public toilets to this is in grand central. Second, they got our order wrong. They missed off an entire meal and so while everyone was eating (bearing in mind this is during Ramadan and so we ordered way in advance to get our food out on time which it wasn’t) 1 person was waiting for their meal to come. Third, everything but the burgers came cold. We had rustic fries, rustic fries with cheese, sweet potato fries and onion rings which we had to send back and get reheated. Fourth, none of the sides tasted good. All the fries needed salting, the wings were fairly small and tasted like Nando’s (decent but you expect better) the onion rings were bland and the wings were just a bit boring tbh. Fifth, they didn’t have any oreos (strange for a fast food restaurant the literally has oreo milkshakes and Oreo milk cakes on the menu) and so gave us a kinder bueno milkshake instead. Nice but not what we wanted. In defence of the people working there, it was busy and they did their best to fix our issues in a timely manner. But still, not a great experience overall. Tucked in a lovely spot with a cosy feel, BRGRI's rustic decor and bench-style tables set a nice vibe. The burgers are good, just like your standard smash burger, nothing really special about it, if you have smash burgers often, this won't stand out, it's not a bad burger but it's not different either. The Double Double meal with wings might not fill you up entirely—I was still hungry after, the group I came with were surprised at how small the burger was.

The chips were good, with their skins on, which I liked, I liked the form factor too. But my choice to get the nacho cheese was a poor choice as it tasted artificial and had a layer of skin form on it if left for too long. The wings for me were a big let down, not because they tasted bad, but because all the flavour rolled off the wings and I had to dip it back in every time. It seems the wings are almost pre-prepped and the sauce is then poured on top after the wings are grilled, combined would be better and make the flavour become thicker and more flavourful.

Unfortunately, if you're after diet drinks, options are limited to water.

My partner and I are massive foodies and are a fiend for burgers. We came here the other day after passing it a few times. Decor is lovely and still has its beautiful pub windows.

Nice set up with social distancing acknowledged between clear screens and the guy who served was helpful when picking our options. The burger may be small for the price point but it makes up for it with all the flavour, sloppyness and overall enjoyable feast. Fries are crisp too with wonderful perinaise and Algerian sauce.

One other thing its nice to have a good burger joint in the North of Brum instead of us going to Small Heath/Balsall Heath. We will be back to sample more, totally worth it!
