Bubble Waffles — Restaurant in Birmingham

I have been here a few times. A loyal customer. However this time the cookie dough was noticeably undercooked and i was overcharged. I went back to the shop and politely asked for a new cookie dough - to which she scoffed and said no! She cooked my cookie dough again. However when i told her i was overcharged she also said no. I then showed her the proof and she had no way to offer a refund or any form of compensation other than an extra topping. The whole time she was unapologetic and offered no form of compensation at all. I then suggested a voucher for next time. She accepted but refused to offer any form of written proof of this, again scoffing saying shes there all the time and will remember. I insisted on some written proof as it could be a few months until i go back again and forgetting is an easy mistake - she still refused. We left however decided to go back having received no compensation for being overcharged. She then sighed and gave me the refund with great attitude. Very disappointing service. Delivery took hours depsite the shop being a two minute drive away and the desserts arrived cold, with room temperature ice cream:

The order was forgotten about, despite being marked as out for delivery on ubereats, and they only made it when we called to check on delivery (as the order had passed it’s delivery time slot). After this they said it was out for delivery (which is a two minute drive/ 12 minute walk!) and we had to call two more times. The person manning the phones was very nice and she chased up the delivery driver on the third phone call which helped, but at this point we had been waiting over two and a half hours for our order. The desserts (waffle and a cookie dough) arrived cold and with melted ice cream. Absolutely blown away by this hidden gem of a dessert spot! I came in craving something sweet and was not disappointed. I had the kunafa milk cake, which was a perfect balance of rich, creamy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. It was soft, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

My friend ordered the kunafa pistachio milkshake, which was freshly made to order and full of nutty, creamy goodness. To make the experience even better, we were generously treated to a free scoop of ice cream of our choice, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected surprise.
