BURGER & SAUCE - King's Heath — Restaurant in Birmingham

I’ve been here twice (and to two other different locations of B&S). The visit I partook yesterday, I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in the UK so far. Visited with my mate and his son tagged along too. I ordered a beefburger with two patties plus fries and a drink. Mate had a chicken burger with two fillets and his kid sensibly had one fillet. We also had a chicken strip each. Man the burger was so good. Cooked to perfection and properly smashed. Almost falling to bits - in a good way. Service here is good. The place is clean and tidy and it’s really a cut above McDonalds. It was busy with families and friends. The three meals came to £21 roughly. I think this was decent value. I’m not complaining. I left properly filled up. I don’t like my burgers well done they should be moist and “crumbly” and melt in the mouth. They weren’t pink inside (which is still fine by me) but we’re just the right side of soft yet cooked through. Well done. Takes a bit of skill to get that right. The burger is slightly spicy. There’s definitely some chilli mixed into the meat as I found some red veg mixed in. Can’t taste any onions or herbs and I am very grateful of that. I hate onion and years of doing BBQs means in now loathe sage/rosemary and suchlike. Well played Burger and Sauce. 5 stars deserved for this visit which exceeded the previous visit by some margin. I order from here occasionally but today was the worst experience ever.

Fries were soggy and undercooked. Tasted okay so didn't bother me too much as the cheese sauce masked it.

The BIGGEST disappointment was when unwrapping the chicken burger. For a £6.50 burger, I recieved what will most likely be known in history as the smallest burger ever. I could hold it with two fingers. The filet to bun ratio was almost non existent. It had the smallest piece of chicken known to mankind. The filet was so small, it was hidden inside the bun! Can only imagine they sent me the kids/club one as typically its 3x the size.

Had a good giggle about it but even as a kids one it's unacceptable as its literally with a 3 inch bun with almost non existent contents.

I experienced a significant disappointment with the service today. The lady who attended to me was extremely rude. After waiting for an hour, she handed me a collection order. During ordering the food she said that my food would be ready in 10 minutes. However, when I arrived after 25 minutes, my order still wasn’t ready. She then told me it would take an additional 2 minutes, but it actually took 35 minutes in total. Throughout the entire experience, there were no apologies or explanations provided, and at one point, she even suggested that if I was in a hurry, I should order from somewhere else.

While waiting for my order, I also noticed that three people working in the kitchen were not maintaining proper hygiene. Their hair was not fully covered by their caps, and they were not wearing gloves while handling the cooked food.
