Caffè Anno — Restaurant in Birmingham

This Korean street food lunch spot is a little something different and we’d definitely check it out again.

The drinks were sensational 🧋 we had green apple bubble tea and a snickers milkshake and they were both 100% worth going back for.

The katsu rice bowl was the star in terms of the food we ordered ⭐️ We also got the combo platter and really enjoyed the fried chicken, but unfortunately found the fish very bland and chips we cold and tasted ‘old’.

The kitchen was a little stretched when we went so we didn’t try that much and were advised to change our original order due to waiting times. Even then, we still waited a long time for a quick lunch. The staff were apologetic and we are hoping this was a blip as we do want to go back and try more of the menu.

I would give the corn dog a 6/10, It didn’t really have a taste and I’ve had better corn dog in Greenwich Food market. The Seafood Topokki was a 4/10, definitely did not taste authentic the sauce was watery but the squid was nice. The egg waffles and Korean fried chicken was terrible 2/10, the waffles were undercooked slightly. I’ve had Korean fried chicken many times and that did not taste anything like it. It had a sickly sweet flavour and left a bad after taste. The restaurant is small, and dirty with lots of flies. Plates needed to be cleared and it felt very sticky. The staff however was very friendly, patient and helpful. I would not recommend but if you want to try the corn dog it isn’t the worst ever it’s just not that great. Very much...

The food was so wholesome and full of flavour!! We loved the corn dogs, the cheese pull was so worth it!!! The korean fried chicken with the sweet chilli mango was delicious!.
