Went to the Square Peg yesterday 5/04/25 and what an awful experience, ordered food for the three of us and was told it will be 30 minutes wait and that’s absolutely fine, but after 50 minutes still hadn’t turned up, so I went to see the waitress and she said I’ll go and find out, she disappeared and came back 10 minutes later after I went hunting for her, she said out food went to the wrong table and didn’t reach our table ( very strange because we gave the table number on ordering food ) I said to the waitress that’s not good enough and I’d like to see the manager, she went and fetched the Manager ( Andy, someone who didn’t want to give his full name because of dater protection ) and the guy didn’t have a clue, he just stood there shaking he said we can do you another portion but that will be another 30 minutes wait.. by this time I was fuming and he recommend a refund, we couldn’t stay any longer because because we had a show booked.. awful awful experience and something I won’t be repeating, they only had one job.. just to...

The place could do with a good clean,to many tables placed to close together hardly any room to pass, sadly the norm now, more tables, more bums on seats ,more money in the till !!! with no concern for the comfort of the customer, the tables were not cleared of dirty plates and glasses and so we were moving them over to another table so we could be seated and l wiped the table with a wet wipe not good !! and no,staff were not busy serving just obviously couldn't be bothered or "wasn't their job" shame really as it is a city centre pub with good prices for food and drink a little higher than th "spoons"out in the suburbs but that's to be expected , Staff could do with customer care training and a smile would bode well and make you feel welcomed but alas l don't think this will happen, would l go back or recommend? no l would not, there are better venues around the city little more expensive to have lunch at but the customer service is better and l am not doing a member of staffs job when the place...

I went to The Square Peg on 26/9/21 and was annoyed with what I witnessed. My food order came without issue and the food was acceptable. Whilst I was eating I noticed the customer next to me having a full English breakfast with tea. At on point he got up to refill his tea and when he had left the table the waitress had come along and cleared his plate. There was no way she could have known whether he had finished or not and the customer came back very unhappy as he had not finished his breakfast. Then an elderly gentleman bought a drink paid and sat himself down. I watched the barmaid calling the gentleman but he couldn’t hear her. After several attempts of calling him someone told the man . He turned around for her to shout across to him he was 20p short in his payment. The lack of empathy and discretion was shocking for the sake of 20p. I was so upset for him. Finally a member of staff was bringing food round to customers was in a filthy shirt. I will choose not to use...

We visited yesterday for a bite to eat and warm from the weather, it's a whetherspoons so you know what you're getting food and drink wise, reasonable quality and good prices. The place was packed to heaving with people waiting for tables, mostly families and shoppers, although there being a match on we saw only a few football fans. Despite how busy it was the food was out in fairly good time and we never had to wait long for drinks either at the bar or table service. We only noticed one doorman (who had his badge reversed in its sleeve, I've seen this done before elsewhere when it's been out of date) despite having two entrances. Unlike the majority of whetherspoons I've visited there's no stairs to access the toilets, the "accessible"/ baby changing toilet required a radar key with a notice to ask at bar if you don't have one. Saw bar-staff open up several times, with no-one needing to wait long. Great pub and atmosphere, definitely recommend.

Been going for breakfast at every JD Wetherspoon around the country whenever I have the chance to try a new one, usually breakfast always good and best deal, and usually pretty chilled experiences in the mornings. However, this was my least favourite JD Wetherspoon. It was very challenging to get a coffee, machine not working, asked for help, staff too busy, found another machine in the end of the room, also not working, other customers also frustrated trying to get a coffee, it took so long, that by the time I got back to table that I chose and gave the table number when I did my breakfast order, my table was taken by someone else. It was way too complicated to get a coffee, too much to chase around before having a coffee.

It's impossible to talk about Birmingham's traditional pubs without mentioning the Square Peg, a true Brummie classic where you meet all types of people from all different social levels. We arrived for a quick visit to Birmingham on Saturday morning, hungry, we chose the Square Peg for breakfast, it was completely packed, we ordered via the app and the food arrived quickly and hot at our table. For those who don't know it yet, it's worth immersing yourself in Birmingham's culture by having a drink and enjoying delicious dishes in the purest English style.
