Following my son's graduation ceremony during the day, we visited the Birmingham branch in Grand Central. The restaurant wasn't busy and seats were available right at the entrance or at the back. Not comfortable with the suggestion of being seated at the front we requested to sit near the back of the restaurant. This was met with a grumpy shrug by the waitress. Following this awkward start, we were then left to a much friendlier waitress, who admitted to not comprehending certain behaviours within the establishment.

The meal was tasty and portions were generous, bar a traditional tea my son ordered. It wasn't quite to his liking and he couldn't drink it. The ambience was a delight and we were genuinely enjoying our experience. We also discussed returning in the future with friends.

Unfortunately, this sentiment didn't last long. Near the end of our meal, my son decided he would like to order another drink. It suddenly seemed impossible to get the attention of anyone. Having forcibly stopped two waitresses as they walked past our table and requested the drink, we found 10 minutes later and no drink. I walked up to the bar and queried where the drink had got to. At first I was ignored then the barman rudely replied he has other drinks to do for other customers. So I turned to the waitress, who was just hanging around the bar. She made reference to a large group who are expected any moment and flatly told me they cannot serve us another drink. What?! We had spent a considerable amount on our order thus far, clearly it meant nothing.

When I requested the bill they came to our table within seconds! The originally friendly waitress, took payment and I made a comment about the treatment we had received and disappointingly her demeanour followed suit with her colleagues.

Totally perplexed as to the attitude of the people in this restaurant. What a shame. Needless to say that we will not be returning or...

Beautiful n lovely place. Awesome interior in Lebanon traditional style. So colourful n lovely. The food they r serving so tasty. Whatever u order, comes in couple of minutes. Nice n cosy place. Not happy with STAFF. So ignorant n pretending ur not there. We were waiting at door for seats, while staff is running here & there for nothing. After 4mins when we got seat, there’s no counter order, u’ll have to wait for someone. Called many times so finally a lady appeared. Despite she need to take our order, forcing us to order her fav dishes. Madness. Finally when we finished, keep calling for bill but seems no one is interested. There were a massive big queue at door waiting for their turn to b seated even the restaurant is nearly empty, no one get their attention. May b they wanna show to the public how busy or famous they r by that big crowd. Btw a pretty Indian girl came with bill n charged us for service charges. When I mentioned that I’m the one who was calling u again n again but no one cares then y should i pay for service which I didn’t get. But no it’s their policy the grab extra money from customers. I just paid n about to move one, when that Indian girl request me to leave my reviews with 5 stars by adding her name which i forgot coz of their bad service 😂. That’s my story or experience to b there. Please add urs if u facing...

Went here on a Saturday afternoon as a table of 4, never eaten here before but booked because the menu looked appealing. A few negative points- the restaurant has in excess off 60/70 seats, but there is 1, yes ONE toilet for all customers. This was in a poor state, with a broken toilet seat, and a flush that barely worked, soaking floor, terrible.

It is overpriced, inauthentic food, lacks flavour in many dishes. Between us we ordered £150 of food and nothing was noteworthy, and of which we all ordered different mains and mezze dishes. We had to chase up 2 of our sides 2 or 3 times, which really shouldn't happen. Also had to go and find another fork ourselves as we didn't have enough and no staff came near us for a good while after our food was served.

We ordered drinks first, and our food came before our drinks. The waiter then told us that 3 of the cocktails couldn't be made, so we reordered, only to have the original 'cocktails' served to us. I say 'cocktails' because they were bland, watered down and tasteless, complete waste of £30 on those.

Again with previous reviews, they automatically add 12.5% service charge, we removed ours as the experience wasn't worthy of the tip.

Will not return as it wasn't really anything to warrant returning for, especially when you have to wait 10 minutes to...

I recently dined at Comptoir Libanais, and I must say, the food was indeed impressive and well worth the money. The flavors and authenticity of the Lebanese cuisine were a delightful culinary experience. Service was commendable, and this is where Alessandra truly shone. Not only did she serve as our waitress, but she also took on the roles of receptionist and bartender. It was evident that she was single-handedly running the entire establishment during our visit. However, this situation left me feeling somewhat uncomfortable. It's clear that Alessandra's dedication and multitasking skills are remarkable, but it's not fair for one person to bear the responsibility of running an entire restaurant. The establishment appeared to be understaffed, and it was disheartening to see her rushing around tirelessly to provide a seamless experience for diners. In light of this, I would like to extend my gratitude to Alessandra for her exceptional efforts, but I also strongly recommend that the management consider hiring more staff. No one should have to work so tirelessly, and it's essential for both the employees and customers that the workload is distributed more reasonably to maintain the high quality of service that Comptoir Libanais aims to provide.

Always wanted to try this place every time we walked past it in Grand Central. Was looking forward to our meal, everything was overpriced so we decided to go for the set menu as it was our first time eating at Comptoir Libinais. The set menu came with any starter and a main of your choice. The waitress asked us if we would like any drinks with our meal or a jug of water, we went with the water. Food came was presented beautifully but felt slightly underwhelmed with the portion size of it. Nevertheless we did enjoy our meal as it tasted just as good as it looked. When it came to paying our bill we realised there was a service charge of 10%, the food in the set menu was charged individually for each item and the water was not FREE! This obviously left us feeling very frustrated and disappointed. My husband asked the waiter who served us about the bill who then went and spoke to her manager to resolve the issue. We were given a revised bill for the correct amount but needless to say we wont be coming back here again. Lovely decor, good food but way too overpriced ☹️
