An Unsafe and Disgraceful Experience! During the Bolton Food Festival, my family and I visited this McDonald's, and the experience was utterly unacceptable. What should have been a simple meal turned into a terrifying ordeal, made worse by the complete failure of the staff and management. While waiting for our order, a gang of youths began harassing an elderly man. A brave young girl stepped in and successfully chased them off. However, the situation escalated. A different group of youths, or perhaps the same ones, later assaulted a teenage girl inside the restaurant. The noise from the fighting was deafening—louder than a football match—yet not a single staff member or manager intervened. They remained hidden, leaving customers and a visibly terrified young employee with learning difficulties to face the danger alone. The police and the Bolton event organizers were the ones who finally responded and took the injured girl to paramedics. The manager only appeared after the chaos had ended. To make matters worse, as a wheelchair user, my husband and I found ourselves trapped. The side door was difficult to navigate, and when we tried to leave during the chaos, we couldn't find a safe, accessible emergency exit. This lack of a clear escape route is a severe safety violation. This level of incompetence and disregard for customer safety is a disgrace. Shame on you, McDonald's management. You are not worthy of a single star. You failed to protect your customers and...
Read moreI visited the Knowsley Street store on Monday 7th April 2025 with my Brownie pack. As there was 18 of us we thought that it would be courteous to let them know that we were going. Also because we had to be somewhere after we had eaten. Therefore my daughter called at around 11:50am and they advised her to email the order through. She did as requested and we thought no more about it. When we arrived the staff did not seem aware of our arrival as I asked if there was a seating area where we could sit together and the young man duly and swiftly sorted this out for us at around 5:05pm. The girls were all arriving by 5:15pm. Once everyone had arrived we placed the rest of the order for our food. (The adults added their order to the original order) The order was placed at 5:25pm. It was 5:55pm when we received the order! We had to therefore rush our food in order to get to our next venue by 6:10pm! In my opinion the pre placing of the order was a complete waste of time. Our girls were upset as they were unable to finish their drinks. When the food did arrive some of it was wrong and we had to go downstairs twice with incorrect items. I was going to purchase McFlurrys for the girls but we simply did not have time to do so due to the incompetence of the staff. Our order was £70+ and would have been a further £25+ with McFlurrys but you missed out on that McDonalds! Fast food it was...
Read moreThis MC Donalds is close to the centre of Bolton. Due to this it is always busy with a variety of different demographics of people. As it is busy and over crowded for a majority of the time it is mostly messy and cleanliness is not the best.
The staff are also not the best, they get orders mixed up and completely ignore essential parts of your order. This has happened on four different occasions with three different members of staff and it is very frustrating and has forced me the use the ordering kiosks available.
When using a kiosk you have the option for table service, this is an amazing service with and I have no issues with it. The hospitality from the staff is pleasant after they bring your food to your table.
Unfortunate the environment of this Mc Donalds is very stressful making the option of eating here not very appealing as you have lots of other options as you are in the centre of Bolton with so many different take-aways, restaurants and pubs to choose from.
The staff here seem to be doing their best but the cleaners seem overwhelmed and so do the cashiers.
At the end of the day my experience eating here is mostly negative the food is just standard Mc Donalds fast food which doesn’t really fill you up, although the issues that I have stated can be easily avoided if they hire more staff and or find a way to lessen the load on the...
