Nando's Blackpool - Squires Gate — Restaurant in Borough of Fylde

Hipster Chicken for the pretentious. Seated quickly and was quite clean apart from a half chewed chip on the seat. Atmospheres gets a 2 as we were in a booth and the seats seem to be connected to the seats behind because our seats were jolting everytime the diner behind us moved. Which was quite annoying. Now for the food/whole experience...you have to go and line up to order or use their app/QR code which is strange considering they have staff knocking about. I don't want to have to do all that, I just want someone to take my order so we can relax and not faff about with getting up or using a QR code. Anyway, the choice is quite limited but they have many different sauces/marinades to zazz up your chicken. I chose the chicken burger which said it was breast but actually had the consistency of thigh meat so it was probably the wrong thing. The side of Mac and cheese was great and chips over seasoned with peri peri salt. Kids meals have a few choices including spicy rice? With no mention of alternate rice which is just weird. All in all good was below par for the money you pay. This is only my 2nd visit so maybe I'm missing something. The staff were nice and attentive when allowed to be. One girl was chatting to us making sure everything was ok then got shouted at from across the room to clear some tables from another lady. 2nd visit and sad to say things have gone downhill, on entry were told that there was a half hour wait as had just completed a takeaway order for 50. No problem as had a walk round the shops whilst waiting. Returned after the half hour after no text to find people just walking in and sitting down. Were seated and ordered, staff seemed nervous and rushed, the place also felt grubby, food all around the window area underneath the table which was also was sticky. Order came, mash was cold in the middle, not long enough in the microwave. It was taken away and the free full chicken on the red reward didn't come, the order had been taken down wrong as she didn't listen. Manager came over to discuss and mentioned we still hadn't had the mash back and the main with it had been finished and another main ordered wasn't up to standard. To be fair to her, she replaced the main, got the reward out with hot mash, handling the situation very well. Shame that the same excuse for not seating people was still being used 90 minutes after first entering. I'll stick to town centre from now.##

Sadly I can't give this zero stars, less then a half empty restaurant on a Thursday night, family with young kids make us wait 30 mins to be seated at a table that was empty and cleared before we got there. After having to do the staffs job of ordering our own food on the app. The staff then came to us to say there's a 15 minute wait for our order they brought a complementary side out to us for the 15 min wait. Sadly now we have been here 70 mins before our food turned up. When our food got to us it had been plated incorrectly with a no cheese option having the wrong sides and all of the 4 fries ordered were cold. Then before we left the fire alarm went off 3 times. The thing that stuck out for being bad was making us wait 30 mins for a table when more then half the restaurant was empty. Then sitting us down at a table we had been stood next to that was cleared and clean since before we got there. A little service common sense and hospitality goes a long way. The food was slightly better then morrisons cafe. For £80 the food wasn't worth it at all.. We also had to search the restaurant and find our own cutlery napkins and sauce as none was...
