Please take this review with a pinch of salt, I'll be the first to admit, I'm not the guy to see about some noodles- hence my visit.
Kay's Kitchen has a very good website that makes it easy to navigate. However, there is very little in the way of product description so my order felt like drawing names from a hat. I ended up opting for the drunken noodles
All I know is that my dish with the noodles, all three meats and the fried egg was really really, mega super, death defyingly spicy. Or "Mild" when I ordered online. Bit of a shame as it took away from the flavour of the dish.
I also got all three starter dishes separately rather than as the little bit more expensive combined option because I really wanted more volume of food. Considering the price of these starters (the prawn toast, the fried bags and the spring rolls) I felt rather let down. Credit where it's due, the prawn toast was lush and the fried bags' flavour earnt the bag from me.
Also ordered salt and chilli strips. Costing almost 6.5 imperial credits of the realm (£6.45 to you and I), these things lacked everything they needed to be considered successful chicken strips. It was dry, lacked texture and the topping didn't have me coming back for more. The onions and peppers crammed in the box were rather scrumptious in all fairness.
Forewarned is forearmed, know the dish and what to expect and I'm sure you'll be leaving better ratings than this. Until...
Read moreA few months ago I decided to use this place for the 2nd time, the 1st time I really enjoyed the food and the same the second as well!
But one of thing I cannot get over is the 2nd time I had food from here I ordered what I had before the Pad Thai which was good! As my father and I went to pay the price on the board said Pad Thai £7.80. Well when we went to pay we were told that we had to pay extra if we wanted chicken Pad Thai!
Nowhere did it state on the board that it's extra if you want meat in your pad Thai! Hell I've even left a screenshot off their menu on the review as proof! It says and I quote "Rice Noodles in a Mildly Spicy Tangy Savoury Sauce, Your choice of meats with traditional vegetables". I don't like dishonesty they clearly needed to update their prices on their board!
Just very dishonest In not telling you before that the meat isn't included in the price! I can safely say don't waste your money here there are far better Thai places in...
Read moreBeen a regular at kays kitchen for a while now. The food is simply the best along with the service. Been to many Thai restaurants and this place serves English breakfast and also dishes out the best Thai food I have ever had. The spring rolls are amazing, salt and chilli chips, chicken pad Thai noodles, with everything else is mind blowing. The food is freshly made to order and there is only one warning to take into consideration before going there......
