Visited this afternoon for lunch with my partner and was not disappointed. We had our buggy with us and worried about taking up space but we were made welcome despite this which was appreciated. The staff were so friendly and talkative and despite it being in the afternoon just after lunchtime, it was nice and quiet inside. Our food arrived very quickly, piping hot and I must admit I was overjoyed to see ‘deep fried pizza’ on the menu, as a Scot living in England, I had not yet found a chippy which offered a local delicacy which is so personal to me and they absolutely did the deep fried pizza justice! Tasted just like home and made me so happy. My partner didn’t understand my feelings of joy but I was happy nonetheless 😂 If you go here, you should absolutely try it. Popped in as we were passing - what a lucky move! The staff were attentive from the moment we entered. The cafe was clean and there were several copies of the menu on each table. There appeared to be lots of vegan options but I was here for sausage and chips. It was delicious. The chips were crispy and lightly browned, very appetising. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Chips are my favourite take out meal but not my husband's, however he said he enjoyed his meal too - chips and mushy peas. We were the last people in the shop, near closing but the owner was lovely, telling us we could sit after we had finished and there was no need to rush. Was really pleased to see such a variety of vegan options on the menu, good choice and everything seemed well labelled. I ordered the bangers, mash and gravy to eat in. After about 5 mins waiting the waitress came and asked if I wanted the gravy, ‘yes please’ I said, ‘but it’s not vegan’ she said. I challenged that it was listed and labelled as vegan, in more than one place on the menu, she apologised and said that she had told the owner that he needs to change the menu!
