Wow! Visited Lincolnshire with family for a short getaway. On our final evening we travelled into the town of Boston for food at Monkey & i, after having read positive reviews online. I am very pleased to say it did not disappoint. The proprietor was so friendly, helpful and confident in the menu, was able to offer suggestions and opinions on what to order. The food itself was presented to one of the highest standards I have seen, (especially for a small restaurant,) and tasted even better. The seafood, vegetables and lamb shank were all really fresh and tasty. With special recognition for the fried chicken dumplings and tempura vegetables, both being clear favourites for the meat eaters and vegetarian of the group. Every single member of the family came away stuffed and satisfied. The overall price although high in comparison to other places in the area, was fair and reflective of the quality of the food and service. This is a real little gem hidden away on Church Street, I would absolutely recommend!

Six stars! Sometimes 5 just isn’t enough. This is a fantastic restaurant and because it’s relatively small it has a more homely and personal feel about it. The owner was very welcoming and took time to talk through the menu and make recommendations. The food itself was honestly the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Beautifully presented, bursting with flavour and a good level of spice, for the dishes we ordered. Portion sizes are generous and it is sensibly priced for the quality of the food too. My only regret being that, sadly, we were only in Boston for the one night! Very highly recommended and a definite 6 stars if that were an option.

We went there last night for the first time as a 4some. As we entered we were very politely met. Taken to our table to wait for our friends. We ordered from the menu, where the specials and any amendments we wanted to make to any dish were brilliantly explained. Nothing was too much trouble. We were checked on regularly and would highly recommend this establishment to friends. Having spent a few weeks in Thailand recently, I can confirm the food is very authentic and fresh. Just like Thailand. Well done team Monkey & I. Perfect eatery.

This was honestly a bit disappointing. This restaurant had such great reviews & we were really looking forward to eating here. The staff are pleasant & the owner is very welcoming & attentive which is great. We did find that service did take quite a long time, but this wasn’t overly a problem for us initially. Communication was a little bit lacking as I asked for a pint of Diet Coke & instead of a discussion taking place about that I was just served a normal glass of Diet Coke - probably about 1/2 a pint I would say & just left to deal with it. It’s fine I just ordered more glasses, so not a huge problem. I ordered the tempura squid starter, which was a little disappointing honestly, the presentation was great & it looked really good, but the tempura batter was a bit thick, the sauce served with it didn’t cut through the flavour of the batter very well & ultimately the squid was overcooked & chewy. My partner ordered the sweetcorn fritters which were fabulous - the flavour was absolutely amazing. He really enjoyed his starter & I enjoyed the bite he kindly shared with me (he doesn’t like seafood so was happy not to try mine). I then ordered the Seafood Monkey Pad Thai for my main - again the squid was overcooked & the mussels unfortunately had quite a few smashed shells of which I was picking out bits of shell for sometime out of the dish to make it edible. The mussels again were sadly overcooked. The Pad Thai other than that tasted okay but wasn’t amazing. My partner had the chicken Pad Kee Mao which he enjoyed. It was a reasonably priced meal. I felt sorry for the young lad working this evening as he looked absolutely shattered by the time we left. It was really great that when we arrived for our booking & were offered a table downstairs it felt a bit too cosy & I felt like we would constantly be in someone’s way - so having read some other reviews I just asked if we could possibly sit upstairs & it was absolutely no problem & we really appreciated the owner going out of his way to accommodate us. We didn’t order dessert on this occasion as there was nothing we overly fancied on the menu. It would have been nice to have been able to look at a drinks menu rather than having to guess at what they might have & pick “safe” options that we knew they would probably have. We loved the atmosphere here & the beautiful deep rich colours that have been used in the decoration throughout the restaurant. The plants were a nice touch too. It was also fantastic to be able to use chopsticks here, it’s a skill I learned as a child & I love being able to practice...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my friend and I couldn't be more impressed. The seafood stir fry and pad thai were both absolutely delicious – the flavours were spot on and the ingredients were fresh and tasty.

But what really made the experience special was the friendly and attentive service. Our server was so helpful in recommending dishes and making sure we had everything we needed.

The atmosphere was also lovely – cozy and inviting with a nice ambiance.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Thai dining experience. It's definitely a hidden gem and I can't...
