Firstly, I have heard great things about this place so I had to come and try it. We were looking forward to eating at Los Burritos. BUT sadly things didnât exactly go to plan.....
We were the first people to enter the restaurant, they sat us down and a few minutes later a family with children (toddlers) came in. For some reason they thought it was a good idea to sit the family right next to us even though the entire restaurant was empty. I was on a date and I had a baby coming up to the table trying to get our attention. The family basically took over the restaurant and didnt have an understanding of personal space.
I had the family fake laughing over everything the baby did like it was the only impressive thing they had seen in their entire life. Personally the staff should have judged the room better.
Secondly! It would be really great to get some food with all the salt you gave me because that was literally all I could taste.... SALT! I have never tasted something so bland in my entire life, there is more flavour from a Wetherspoons plain burger. Mexican food is meant to be full of spice or flavour and it just tasted like dry salty chicken and was not spicy at all. My other half also didnât bother eating her pulled pork meal because it didnât have any flavour either. I would love to know why we didnât get the experience that everyone told us about or maybe people in Boston lack the knowledge of what good food is. But this place certainly did not...
Read moreWe went not knowing what the restaurant would be like - although we had been to the previous place, and very nice it was too, we were not let down at all by the décor, it has the authentic feel and ambience of a proper Mexican family taverna - and it has the welcome and the food to match. The welcome is as warm as some of the food, although not too spicy it certainly has enough of a kick to let you know its there. The warmth of the people perfectly opposes the chill and strength of the lager, a very refreshing beverage is exactly what is called for , I can heartily recommend the house lager, perfect Although it was a little slow, the restaurant was full, we had to wait for perfection when we got the food, and we did have a starter we weren't disappointed You HAVE to go and try this place it is quite the best authentic Mexican anywhere in this area. Now the teething problems have been sorted I cant wait to go back and have the best night outside Mexico
If your at all worried about it being too hot don't be just ask the staff, they will make it right for you . What more can I say, our experience was perfect, from the fantastic décor, to the warmth of the welcome to the chilled Mexican lager, it was all perfect and the bill is great too afterwards
Thanks Los Burritos for a great night look forward to seeing...
Read moreUPDATE: Went as a group of 4 tonight and had a much more pleasant experience. Food was as good as it originally was and the serving times were impressive. Teething problems seem to have gone and it's good to see Los Burritos return to the restaurant that I loved.
We went for dinner here tonight and I have to say I was incredibly disappointed. After waiting an hour and 10 minutes for our starters, our mains came out 40 minutes later. It was very clear that the staff were stressed at how busy it was but anywhere else I would've walked out after waiting that long. Almost every table had people waiting a long time for their food.
The prices of the food seems to have increased, with sides not being included in the price of a main anymore. It doesn't make sense to eat in when a burrito side and drink would cost ÂŁ7 to take away is ÂŁ14 to eat in! That being said, the food was decent however I wouldn't be able to justify spending over ÂŁ50 on a meal out here again.
For some reason you are unable to use the loyalty card when eating in which doesn't make much sense, I'm not sure what difference it makes. Hopefully the restaurant improves over time but it's unlikely we will be back here again anytime soon. A shame really, as it used to be our favourite when it was on...
