In a nutshell: The staff were relatively friendly but there were 2 chefs witnessed not washing their hands after going to the bathroom (this was witnessed after we had eaten), there were 2 waitresses that were very nice, they are the reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star for the blatant, disgusting disregard for basic hygiene. The food was nice when it finally arrived but it wasn't what we had ordered.
The longer story: We were booked in as a table of 6 for my husbands birthday and I was told upon booking that it was a limited menu in December due to them being busy and they would send over a copy of the menu the following day. I contacted them twice before hand for this but had no reply.
We arrived and were given a set menu to choose from. We were surprised at the choices on it because as a self promoted steakhouse there was no steak at all and just 1 choice of starter.
We were able to order from the main menu (thank you nice waitresses) and after a long hour and a half of being repeatedly told that our food wouldn't be long, it finally arrived and the 3 steaks we had ordered were all cooked incorrectly. At this point we were all very hungry so ate it because we didn't want to have to wait any longer. We had at least 4 different people come to ask if everything was OK and when we told them that no it wasn't, the 2 nice waitresses were apologetic, one waiter jokingly argued that the blue steak was actually medium (which is what was ordered) and the man that I assume was the owner or front of house said with a smile that we should have told them before we ate it. We had been very patient waiting for it to arrive and whilst we understood his reasoning, at this point my husband started to become annoyed and explained the delay in getting the order to us and that we were all very hungry so ate it because who knew how much longer we'd have to wait if we'd sent it back.
We came to an agreement with a deduction on the bill that we were all happy with and went to pay but there had been an issue and there seemed to have been another table's bill added to ours sigh. The nice waitress supervisor lady corrected this for us and also discounted the service charge for us when I explained that I wasn't happy to pay it (side note, I'm usually happy to tip well for good service but I did feel a mandatory service charge was rather cheeky in this instance). To be honest I think they were all happy when we left as it was a bit of a mess from start to finish.
Feedback: In my opinion the staff were all very friendly but rushed off their feet and so mistakes were made. There didn't seem to be any structure to who was waiting on which table which caused issues when we were trying to explain that we weren't happy, which in turn was quite frustrating because no one seemed to be talking to each other. It may be worth making sure everyone is on the same page with what to do should a complaint arise.
I feel that it would be beneficial for you to have one waiter/waitress per table where possible or at the most two. I would suggest that you need more staff in the kitchen or to take less bookings as it felt like no one really knew what they were doing and that we had been forgotten about.
To top it off I've just been made aware that a member of our party saw 2 of your kitchen staff not wash their hands after they had been to the toilet. I've removed a star for this blatant, disgusting disregard for basic hygiene. I suggest you revisit your policies and procedures with your kitchen staff because out of all that I've written, this last part is what has...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, and we are from London. It was disgraceful. We had a table booked for 7:00 PM, and when I informed the waiter, he didn’t even bother to check. He simply stated that the restaurant was full and gestured toward the bar, offering us a drink on the house. We waited at the bar for 30 minutes, despite having made a reservation over the phone (not online).
Eventually, they took us to a table, where we waited another 20 minutes to place our order. The menu looked quite extensive, but the catch was that we waited an hour and a half before we received our starters, which consisted of mezze. It was clear on the menu what the mezze included, and yet when it arrived, it contained prawns, which were not part of the mezze and posed a risk for my friend, who has a shellfish allergy. We finished the mezze, leaving the prawns aside, and then waited another hour for our main course.
Before the main course arrived, no one bothered to provide us with plates or cutlery, so when our food finally came, we couldn’t eat it - did they expect us to eat with our hands? The main course was abysmal; it was probably the smallest meat platter I have ever seen in any Turkish restaurant, especially for four people. Half the bread in the basket was burnt (see attached photo).
We considered walking out several times because it was that bad. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager, explaining how terrible the experience was, and he merely stood there saying, "I agree." Come on, you're the manager! It was pathetic. In London, restaurants respect bookings; if you’re seated at a table that will be needed in 30 minutes, they inform you. In this restaurant, it felt like no one knew what they were doing or how to run a business. They are all passive. I will never return.
The manager even had the audacity to shake my hand at the end as if to imply, "See, we do a good job." Shame on him and the restaurant.
On a positive note, I feel sorry for the young girl who was there on her first day. She was the most apologetic person in the restaurant and did her best, so...
Read moreSTAY CLEAR FROM HERE!! This restaurant is just an over price kebab house with seats. Looks so good in the pictures that they promoted but trust me it’s look nothing like the picture. Me and my boyfriend we are not from here we are on our holiday and to celebrate my birthday on 20.08 we thought this place looks nice and we were so wrong!. We get seated the staff were acceptably nice but then after order the food our main arrive before our starters I was confused and asked where are our starters then the waiter just yelled out “oh it’s my fault I forgot to key in the starters” while they putting main on our table. I tried to send it back and ask them not to reheat my steak I worked in the restaurant before I KNOW. They obviously doesn’t want to loose the cost of the tomahawk steak and the golden leaves they decided that they will give us the discount if we have our main right away, I was so disappointed and starving at this point so we just say yes. £99+£25 extra for the gold leaves ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT to pay that price I do expect the steak to be unbelievable. The picture on the menu looks nice but yes we were proving wrong again! Steak were chewy, gold leaves gets slapped on the steak with no care, the vegetables that comes with it were pathetic like they’ve been left out for 10 days and the fries were not good. We did finishes our food as we were so hungry and we doesn’t know where else to go so either that or no dinner. At the end they took of £31 out of £140 total bill and give us desserts to go we did not touch the desserts. While I was leaving the waiter who took out order was literally rolling a cigarette in FRONT OF ME!! I was so disgusted at least go out to some other place and do it when the customers can’t see. Word of advise people makes mistake which is understandable but check always check and what makes it worse was the restaurant was actually empty there was only one couple next to us. Never again with...
