Our first visit - Sunday evening. Service: We came and waited near door as we do everywhere . I believe that the main waiter is the owner. He came closer and we just said table for 2. We needed to repeated it twice, maybe he could not listen due to music. He turned to the lady waiter and started speaking Italian. She came and took us to the table. Then he continued speaking Italian with her and watching on us, really really inappropriate behaviour. I wonder what they were telling to each other. We did not leave just because the lady was actually very polite. She also told us about special menu and recommended the dishes. Atmosphere: The restaurant is old as me (Born in 1989). Not sure when it was last time refurbished. I believe new walls paint (different colours) would be beneficial and wooden tables and bar need new polish. Serving - After we ordered, all the cutlery (4pieces/person with one napkin) was brought to the table on big tray and slowly put on the table. I realised that they clean the tables properly, but I do not like when the cutlery is on the tables. Better to bring them in a cutlery pot. Food: 5* Starter delicious. As main I tried recommend Rigatoni with beef in Napolitana sauce -delicious, too. Bf had really tasty pizza. Overall: They have delicious food, but it is time to refresh the place. Careful with the discussion in Italian, you never know who could actually...
Read moreWe arrived and it didn't take long to get seated. The waiters & waitresses were very nice and polite. We ordered a Moretti beer and water to drink, and for food we ordered calamari rings (3 rings on a plate full of salad and garlic mayo), seabass and seafood risotto. I am still waiting to see a few more calamari rings appear somewhere! The seabass looked really nice, more fish wouldn't have been amiss. It was covered in cherry tomatoes, capers, tomato sauce and a few prawns, which hid the fillet of fish. And it came with a bowl of salad. And the seafood risotto, well, what can I say, it was risotto rice cooked in tomato forever and a day. The rice was so cooked that it was cooked enough to make a very soft porridge. The shrimps were miniature size, smaller than a ten pence coin. There were two nice size tiger prawns and two green shell mussels plus about 5 small mussels from which one was completely closed and two were so dry they crumbled when I tried to take them out of the shells. What can I say, there are plenty of other restaurants that I will be visiting before considering ever coming back to this one. And this is only for the grand...
Read moreOver 20 people went for a birthday meal on Monday 16th October and the service we received was poor. Food and drinks came out late even after numerous times of reminding them. One waitress who was dark haired continued to have a rude ora about her and seemed unwilling to help us, which lead to her to rudely talk and act with simple things like handing us cutlery and menus. Through the whole meal one waitress really helped us I believe her name was Emily and she was fair haired. At the end of the meal we all asked politely to pay separately which the waitress did not like and continued to argue with us about the type of payment. We were told we were not allowed to pay on card under £10 but received to do it separately when other restaurants allow us to do so, as change and payment could be more difficult if we did it all together. This lead to her saying something on the line of "it's easier for us if we do it all together I'll get you the bill". Customer service was poor that night and the money we paid was not worth the experience...
