The food and coffee here were excellent—high quality and served quickly. The kitchen deserves praise for this. ​However, the service process was inconsistent and confusing. When I tried to order at the counter, I was instructed to sit down for table service. I had plenty of time to read their magazine and take in the atmosphere, but after waiting an uncomfortable amount of time with no one approaching, I returned to the counter to place my order myself. I was then advised that payment would be taken at the table at the end of the meal. ​Following the meal my plate was cleared, but I was left waiting again for an extended period for someone to collect payment. Burra would not look out of place in a trendy Melbourne or Sydney neighbourhood. There is a good range of savoury brunch food items catering to different dietary needs and some thought has been given to creating an interesting menu. The hot drinks we had were good, including a matcha latte. We didn't have any cakes but they also looked very nice. It felt arguably a little on the pricey side but they didn't add on service charge like other places are increasingly doing and given the expensive postcode, on balance, the prices felt about what you would expect for the area. I love this place. Well priced and not your typical cafe food. What they serve is always interesting and full of flavour. On top of that the coffee is made with love and care. It's not the kind of place which just take your coffee order, make it as quick as possible and throw it at you. It's clear that they care about the way they make their coffee and they shows with the flavour. They also have a wicked selection of pastries and sweet treats such as cakes and cookies which appear to be made in house.
