Discovered this place by accident looking for a different pub to have Sunday Lunch. We were 2 adults and 2 Children aged 6 . Upon entering we found staff friendly and efficient. There was a small sofa with a few games on the table which is a lovely touch for Children. And the quirky decor a nice focus point.
The menu is a bit over priced in my opinion for a pub think Roast was £18pp 25% discount for child portion. We both decided to share our plates with the children instead (and there is definitely enough to do this). Wasn't a lot of option Beef/Chicken/Nut roast V I think (Tbh price almost put us off but we were all very hungry so decided to stay) That being said the quality of the food was high standard (We both had Beef Roast) and veg is unlimited we were told so would be replenished on request (as initially a small boat of veg was brought to the table between us) The gravy was really tasty and sweet potato crisps that's served in the big Yorkshire were moorish. The Meat portion was good and cooked well. I would definitely dine here again as I really enjoyed my meal, it's not a budget family option but it's worth the money for the quality of food. And prob one of the best places I've had a Roast in a long time
Pros: Good food, Efficient service, Clean, Friendly, quirky decor, games Cons: Limited...
Read morewe have to give this place 5 stars for everything from the service of the lovely lady who greeted and served us, to the quality of the food and value for money. We had 1 vegan roast dinner and 1 veggie, the best I’ve had in the Bath/Bristol area. Everything was perfect - only comment I would make was due to the 1 roast being vegan, a number of items were taken off (cauli cheese & Yorkshire pud I believe) but nothing was subbed - perhaps an extra spoonful of red cabbage or an extra roast potato would of made the plate seem a little fuller? But honestly we’ll be back time & time again, and have already recommended the pub to numerous people in the...
Read moreWe’ve had 2 visits to this pub in recent months and have been very impressed on both occasions. The first time we came for dinner on a Saturday evening and had a great meal, with v friendly and efficient service. We chatted for a bit with a lovely French lady, who suggested that we might like the Sunday roast. We experienced it this Sunday and were delighted! The staff were charming and helpful. The meat was tasty, the vegetables plentiful and cooked perfectly. The gravy was a wonderful rich jus. Best of all, they had made gluten-free Yorkshire puddings for us, as we had mentioned that I was coeliac when booking. We loved...
