Harvey Nichols Second Floor Restaurant — Restaurant in Bristol

I have come here a few times and always have such disappointing experiences. The first time I came I asked a shop assistant where the pixi beauty was and she just shrugged. I then found it myself and wandered around trying to find someone to come with me to a till and let me pay. Today when I walked it I was immediately approached by a lady asking if I wanted eyebrow threading. When I said no thank you, she continued to follow me and keep asking me despite me saying no, I was just here to pick up a few bits. Honestly, I felt a bit harassed and very put off. Again, I couldn't find anyone to serve me so walked around for ages trying to buy my items. Stopped at the hourglass counter but there was nobody around to talk to me and all the items out were testers so I couldn't even get my own items. Eventually I put my stuff back and left. There seemed to more staff members than customers but only talking to themselves, not interested in helping me out at all. I'm not expecting to be treated like royalty but there has been consistently bad customer service here and for a 'luxury' department store to treat customers like this is a bit of a joke. After having perused the breakfast menu on the Harvey Nichols website, my girlfriend and I paid a visit here on a Saturday morning.

All of the staff were only too happy to help and made us both feel quite privileged to be enjoying such a dining experience, with the restaurant's lavish interior and view over the courtyard area of Cabot Circus. It felt like a classic dining experience, with the drinks and ice trolley.

We both ordered the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Despite only one slice of bacon being served it was of obvious good quality. The pancakes were small in diameter yet satisfyingly thick and everything worked well with the rich maple syrup. The pancakes were particularly delicious as they were crispy on the outside, while soft and fluffy inside.

We were both very pleased with everything concerning our visit, although the restaurant was particularly hot and stuffy upon this occasion. However, the staff were all to happy to adjust the temperature to our liking.

I can only give 3 stars to be honest because when I walked into the store a lady headed straight over to me, she asked if I would like a free service at the the brow bar so I said well my brows are tattooed on, she replied by saying we have products for that. I went with her and she did my brows. Cut along story short I felt like I has been pushed into buying the products which cost me £97. I am over here on holiday visiting my daughter and I was so stressed over what had happened. My son in law came with me to take the products back. Id been sold 2 of the same items aswell and the lady said that the products would make my face better. So that gave me stress thinking my face was bad. Anyway my son in law managed to get me a full refund and Tamsin was very helpful and made me feel so less stressed. The manager was also very pleasant and said that it should never of happened.
