Horrific dining experience. Started unsatifactorily with rude manager in response to a polite request to change from bar stool table to normal table due to physical disability (pre booked in advance and no option to choose table type. Was unhelpfully told by said manager to put it in the comments when booking). Once seated we began to use the app to order as not given menus. Manager came over to take a drinks order, unhappy we were using app so then provided menus. Visa card was requested and taken to set up the tab and this was then not returned and remained with the manqger (we assume) for the rest of our time eating. Order arrived part hot part cold. Pizza ordered had minimal topping on half the pizza, did not cover much of the pizza and left of unedible crust. 2 pieces of goats cheese on whole goats cheese pizza. Cheesy chips were chosen as an option between fries and chips. Fries were given incorrectly. Pork chorizo empendas (plural) chosen from the small plates menu. Arrived cold and soggy. 1 small empanada cut in half arrived, not the multiple as on menu. £5.50 charge. It tasted bland - no taste at all of chorizo (normally overpowering taste). Halloumi fries also ordered were hot, well cooked and tasty. Drinks arrived promptly and as ordered. On asking for the bill ourselves (as we waited a long time with no one clearing plates) the waitress asked if everything was ok. My partner mentioned that a couple of things werent great. The waitress said she would speak to the manager. The manager came over and was rude, passive aggressive and abrupt from the start of the conversation. Absolutely no customer service skills at all. He proceeded to not listen to a word of us trying to explain the incorrect things with our meal, even when the printed menu proved him incorect. He said he would eat things as they had been served so we shouldnt have a problem with them. We then informed him that we actually ordered puddings the night before as room service (as staying in the hotel above), which caused us to be ill all night. We had already pre booked so gave the benefit of the doubt to still eat there the following night. We would not recommend at all and would urge the manager to go undertake some customer service training. The ladies who served the food to the table and intially booked us in were all polite and attentive. Thank you ladies.

We came here, as we were looking for a cheap eat January restaurant offer (2 for 1 on mains) and expected it to be quite nice. But, it by far exceeded our expectations with a warm, inviting and rustic atmosphere. The restaurant design and architecture was beautiful, the old stone archways featured throughout the building created a real charm alongside the warm blazing fire by the bar. The staff were fantastic, very hospitable and excellent at checking in and explaining the menu. We ordered the steak sandwich with fries and the ham and chicken pie with hand cut chips and seasonal veg with homemade gravy. The steak was topped with a delicious sauce and caramelised onions, adding a lovely sweetness. Although the steak was a little tricky to eat. The fries were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The pie was filled to the brim with meat that was tender and delicious, I would prefer a little more sauce, but that might be personal preference. It was accompanied by sweet baby carrots, green beans and a rich homemade gravy. But, the star of the show was the hand cut chips. Beautifully cooked with a crispy exterior and the most fluffy interior. Fortunately, the portion size was rather large, so those extra chips certainly didn't struggle being consumed. I would certainly recommend coming here if you are looking for an affordable, rustic spot to eat with excellent service and very good homemade British pub classics.

Has so much potential to be amazing, but unfortunately it currently lacks any sense of organisation. We booked using first table, and when we showed up and there was no one in the restaurant area, and we were left kind of wondering and standing around not really knowing where to go for food. After approaching the bar, the gent was nice but seemed a little unsure and just said, sit anywhere and order, we asked if we could go outside which was fine. We sat for awhile and no one came out to even give menus, so we had to again go in and ask, and then there was a further 10-15 minutes wait for anyone to come out and take orders, which we previously asked if they would, and were reassured they would. Food wait was a little longer than other places but the place was nice and we didn't mind the wait. When food arrived, it was pretty good, and we definitely enjoyed. When paying, the 2 ladies at the bar were new and seemed very out of place, albeit polite and apologetic, but seemed stressed and didn't know how to do the first table bookings. Which resulted in a 10 minute wait to try and find someone who did know. It's a shame as based on our visit today we wouldn't go back, but they had a decent bar, lovely atmosphere and a great margarita menu and prices. If they sorted the organisation we would be back with friends regularly, but unfortunately due to our visit today, will be sticking to others on White ladies road.

Lovely hotel friendly staff and management very helpful services great in all departments only issue was small room and very warm had fan on and window open all the time stayed 3 days only. Other issue was on the night England were playing we had our evening meal in Bar dinning area and just had time to finish our meal as they had tables booked for no residents to watch the match which we were not made aware of all sitting area in the bar and dining area were booked and we could not relax after our meal and asked to leave our table in 10 minutes we had to go outside which they had table's which was covered by canopy with hitting but was not on and had to ask for it to be turned on but even with heating it was cold night and windy and outside service was very slow and not ideal for residents to have to leave the inside area Bar extra the only other option was go to your room they need to but their residents first which they did not on this occasion a very bad experience on that night made us feel that they didn't take their residents into consideration which they should take a look into no oppaligy or compensation for the inconvenience this was our second visit to stay with them but I would have to consider staying with them again just because off this issue otherwise a great hotel and great staff but I would check if there was anything like this taking place before I would book the hotel on our next visit to Bristol this and a small room that was very warm was a let down for a lovely friendly staff hotel but the other 2 nights were fine and...
