Recently refurbished and it hasn't done it any favours. I come here semi regularly, and I think the small annoyances have now been compounded by new ones, making the overall experience much less enjoyable. The coffee cups are now really small and have no handles so they burn your fingers. If you're there on your own it's really difficult when it's busy. The staff insist on you having a table number. This means you have to go in the cafe, find a table, leave your belongings there (at your own risk I assume) and then order. If you just go to order, the staff get a bit off with you when you say you don't know the number of a table down some stairs and round a corner. There is no signage to indicate a table number is required before ordering. Having said that, some staff are nicer about it than others. The food is the usual pastries etc, though of a good quality. They offer some sandwiches, but not many. Overalls it is a nice cafe, but tiny coffee and grumpy staff...

Nice cafe. Unfortunately one of the servers was very rude. There was a group of 8 of us who went up to order and the woman behind the counter was rude to each and every one. My friend (who ordered first) didn’t get his food until everyone else had nearly finished eating and told that they were sorry. No compensation at all. I asked if my sour dough toast in my breakfast could be changed to a ciabatta roll (which they did have) and server laughed at me and said no. Couldn’t eat much of the breakfast other than the egg and sausage because it was all solid. Had to use my hands to try and rip the bacon up because it was so tough. Didn’t eat it in the end as it was like chewing a very salty old shoe. Nice cafe, but unfortunately marred by a rude server and tough food. Will not go again and will...

Was having trouble loading loyalty card app, lady at cash register said they'd stamp it when they brought over my order. A blonde lady brought over my order, when I asked her to stamp my loyalty card she snapped at me to take it over to the till. I was quite shocked and tried to explain what I'd been told but she just interrupted and shouted at me to take it to the till. It was rude, abrupt and humiliating in front of all the other customers. From the way she was telling other staff what to do, maybe she was the supervisor. I liked this cafe before but I don't like paying to be humiliated and spoken to like dirt. Won't be...

Really nice coffee shop, might be one of my favourites in Clifton. The front window is a good spot for chilling. There’s good food selection and reasonably priced. Given 4 stars for atmosphere because although I really like the front half of the coffee shop, there’s a section in the back that doesn’t quite have the same feel. There’s WiFi which is a bonus in Clifton as the mobile data service is generally pretty bad in the area. Also, the service is great. There’s some really nice people working in there.

Earlier this week I achieved 'peak muffin'. I wouldn't normally food review but this marmalade and chocolate muffin was a truly sublime experience. It was still warm from baking when I returned to work to eat this delight, the magma marmalade centre provided a perfect tart sweetness and moistness to the perfectly baked cake. Honestly words fail me here, all I can say is that it was the best muffin experience of my life to date.

Always popular, always busy, both for sitting in ( with a queue!! ) and takeaways, this establishment always goes the extra mile. Very pleasant staff, a fantastic array of salads, breads, pastries, cakes and a super squash and roasted squash, chilli, garlic and thyme soup which we both had. Could be cosy but like everywhere in the current pandemic windows and doors remain open .....keep calm .....and carry on !! Excellent.
