What a lovely evening at Bosco Regent Street. I’ve previously been to the Bosco located on whiteladies road but decided I’d take a swing at Regent street. I had a fantastic evening with my friend. We started with the Arancini, which was fabulous and honestly why we always decide to go to Bosco. We then ordered two pizzas, the Calabria and the ventricina. Both were absolutely delicious! The pizzas are pretty large but don’t worry they have boxes should you wish to take some home. We also had some garlic bread on the side which was fantastic. There’s is a fine selection of wine and cocktails available as well! The restaurant itself isn’t very large but it is indeed very charming and there’s aircon! The service of the staff was fantastic. Our server was very warm and friendly(forgot to get her name). Bosco is a perfect dining option whatever the occasion or even just for a catch up with friends!

Throughout time, many great Joel’s have emerged; Joel Dommett - a frighteningly funny man, Joel Edgerton - a strikingly handsome bloke, and Billy Joel - a peerlessly talented gentleman. But there’s one that takes them all in a man-versus-Joel’s challenge - Mr Joel “FunnyHandsomeTalented” Bosco-Clifton. With a surname of Bosco-Clifton it was probably written in the (5) stars that he would thrive at this beautiful restaurant, but credit needs to be given where it is due. With that sort of pressure at birth, you’d forgive anyone to crumble, yet Joel grabbed a hold of that mantle and thrived as the Wednesday afternoon Maitre D. He was attentive, polite, thoughtful, wise and shared playful anecdotes to put my mind at ease after an acute case of the “what-pizza-should-have-itus” (an affliction that many can relate to). Keep up the good work Joel, and thank you for having us.

1/6/2024 Tasty Italian restaurant, we knew them from other branches. Can’t miss the pizza ( the dough is very good, crispy outside and soft inside) and arancini ( see the melting cheese from my photo), as well as the coffee ( aroma, after taste…. top 3 in Clifton on my list). Surprisingly got 50% discount today for the soft launch this weekend. All of the food and drinks is amazing, except the batter of calamari is too soft and loose. And luckily we have Kat to serve us, she’s cheerful, helpful and attentive, she is really a gem of the restaurant. Great love and definitely will return and recommend it to my friends. P.S.: -remember to check with staff of their “ today special pizza “ it may surprise you. -If owner find my review, please add back tiramisu on dessert menu. -Pannacotta on the bill marked “ Free”, apologies from the restaurant of our long waiting time.

What a shame, we called in advance to check out if they could possibly provide some gluten free options and we were assured that they could adapt many things... Not so. What a disappointment that the chefs don't really cater for Coeliacs. Even though I have a smallish appetite anyhow I didn't relish the thought of eating a bowl of olives as my main dish or a bowl of garlic as suggested by the waiter. I asked for the risotto but was told it would be fried with a flour crust. I asked for the meatballs and they were made with wheat flour. I'm sure that such a cool restaurant should take the effort to use the many alternative flours available to cook gluten free dishes. I use gram flour, rice flour and even Doves plain flour blend at home. It takes no longer to cook and is totally delicious and versatile. Even a few choices of gluten free pizzas would have been nice, and the availability of gluten free pasta is fantastic these days. So why dear chefs can't you offer these alternatives. I settled for a small portion of bean stew in the end which wasn't particularly tasty. It was also very costly for such a small portion... Not sure if I'll be back. Sorry guys but even Pizza Express offer more gluten free choices...

Overall, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. However, the service was not as great as I expected.

Overall, the waiters were Inattentive and really lack of observation skills. Two customers who were seated just a minute before us, right beside our table, had already received their drinks and food by the time we were even asked if we’d like something to drink or if we were ready to order. When we did place our order, we requested a jug of water to share… it never came. We asked again when our meals arrived… still nothing. It was only after we had completely finished eating that we finally received the water we had asked for three times. Meanwhile, the customers next to us had already been served their second round of drinks. In the end, a rough 12.5% service charge was added to the bill. Had I noticed it on the receipt beforehand, I honestly wouldn’t have paid it.

It’s such a shame to give it such a low rating as the food were great and able to watch the chefs cook really enhanced the flavours and you can truly see the effort they put into the food. However with the lack of service, it really ruins that experience. I would go back I think, but I’ll be...
