We have visited many high quality restaurants in our time including some that have one more more Michelin stars but I can say that none compare with the quality of food and service that we receive at Tare. If I could dine at any one place for the rest of my life I wouldn't even have to think about it, Tare would be my choice. The staff are so friendly and have an expert knowledge, I feel supremely confident in all of their drinks recommendations and dietary requirements. I am a coeliac and vegetarian but there are no shortcuts taken and I never feel like I'm missing out in any way, including when they bring out the bread at the begining of the meal. If anything mine was better than my wife's this time round! I have to give a special mention to the sommelier who never fails to amaze us with his wine pairings, knowledge and warm personality. As a result I've truly fallen in love with wine and realised how much it can impact a meal. I always come away with 2 or 3 new favourite wines to try and track down! I cannot speak more...

The space is relatively small but very aesthetic and intimate. Dinner does not start until the last guest/party arrives and dishes are served at the same time and at an even pace. While booking, you’re given an option to start with a glass of champagne upon arrival (which I did) and it was phenomenal.
The tasting menu was 7 courses and an exceptional value for £62. The standout dish was the Old Winchester tart with quince and thyme, which was equally sweet and savory with just the right amount of crunch. Many of the dishes seemed to contain a sizable amount of milk/dairy, which I felt was a bit unnecessary and could’ve been substituted to achieve a better flavor profile.
The service was outstanding and the server made some impressive drink recommendations I was very fond of.

Read moreWe visited Tare on a Friday evening and had the seven course taster menu. It was absolutely fabulous - each dish was delicious and thoughtful and extraordinarily well cooked and presented. We did not try the wine pairings as I’m not drinking wine at the moment however most of the other diners appeared to be and it seemed very well received by their reactions. The service was top quality - there is a very knowledgable sommelier/wine expert and our server was incredibly helpful throughout the night. We called in advance to let them know one of us was dairy intolerant and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find that they had made delicious dairy-free alternatives throughout and with absolutely no fuss at all. A gem of a restaurant and one that we will try and revisit on future...
