Worst service i've had for a long time. Ordering food i was asked a table number. The table had no number, i went over to double check but the girl serving me politely said she knew the number and placed my order. After waiting just over an hour i went back to the bar to cancel. By this time i was already late back to work. They explained the food had been ready for half an hour but forgot where i was sitting and unable to find me. I was sat right in front of the bar. A middle aged man with huge flesh tunnels so not like i blend into the small lunchtime crowd of 20 something students. No idea how they couldn't find me but they wanted me to stay, be even later back to work and eat the cold food. I politely asked for a refund again explaining that i had to get back to work right away and wasn't keen on the idea of eating a cold burger. The lady who served me then gave a refund, whilst tutting and shaking her head like it's my fault they made me miss lunch and be late back to work. And not a full refund for the large burger i paid for. A refund for the small burger. So technically a theft. Common decency goes a long way people. If it wasn't for the tutting, head shaking and refusing to give a full refund (which i didn't have time to dispute) i would have taken it as an honest...

Came to The White Harte with a group of 15 or so. Booked tables after hearing reviews about great food and service. One of the tables for our group was booked on the opposite side of the room and staff also forced another group of people who they failed to reserve a table for onto our parties table. Not great but not the end of the world. Unfortunately the service we received from then on was horrendous. Food took over 1 hour to come out and most of it had been sat on the hot plate getting burnt and overcooked, meanwhile pizzas came out burnt to a crisp time and time again and even a salad took over an hour and a half to arrive to our table. Half of our group ended up refunding the food because we had waited over two hours. Not enough staff on the bar, not enough staff in the kitchen. No alcohol behind the bar either as several of our party wanted cocktails but we were told they had no tequila among other things. Management need to take a long hard look at themselves and employ more staff to take the heat off the existing ones so some semblance of service can be provided. Overall a bit of a shocker....

Usually it’s an alright pub - prices reflect the quality - can’t go wrong.

Today we waited over an hour for chips and a sub. At 40 minutes I ordered more drinks so kindly reminded the staff we ordered (fully aware things can go wrong) Was told it would be a few minutes - went back after waiting just over an hour was told “few minutes”. Food arrived one portion of chips cold, the angry fries had normal cheese not Stilton and the sub was burnt. I did not mention this because of how long original meal took.

I work with pubs and completely understand there is a mass shortage of kitchen staff, I can see your sign saying you need kitchen staff, but the lack of decency from the bar staff to help the kitchen or even acknowledge their customer has waited a ridiculous time for a basic meal is poor. It doesn’t help that the two times I chased my food the bar staff are sat on a corner all discussing how they can or can’t remember last night.

If one person had come over and just acknowledged it was a bit poor it would have been so...
