They mixed up our orders and “couldn’t amend the issue”, but instead of cancelling the order or telling us we waited an hour and a half before I eventually chased up deliveroo to ask what was happening. So, we waited an hour and a half and received no food, and no one cared to notify us that this was going to happen. Also, don’t go there, the servers are paid minimum wage for a stressful job and take it out on you as the customer by acting like you’ve walked in asking for a sushi boat and a foot massage. Just to reinstate - the restaurant realised that they would not be able to complete my order at 9:15. They did not contact me or cancel my order, and I only received an answer 45 minutes later when I contacted deliveroo support (the restaurant would not answer my calls). If you want good, authentic food, I would suggest spending your money on a restaurant that actually cares about its customers and employees. If yakinori cannot prioritise neither the customer nor the staff, the owner’s integrity and conscience are both non existent. If you go to Wagamama, you will at least be served your food. Consider supporting the hot pot restaurants in town, or the Japanese food place at the bottom of park street, but do not go here. On indeed, they look for a server with years of experience, along with many other qualifications, but the pay is this - minimum wage. This tells you all about how well they treat your employees, and trust me the employees will make it clear to you with...
Read moreThis is in reference to the take away counter at lunchtime. I have been using this restaurant for lunch take away for years, well before its in the hand of the current owners. I normally pick up lunch box from this place twice a week and for the last two month noticed the the portions of food you get with the regular lunch box are getting smaller and smaller, however, yesterday was a new record... the food left in the trays at the counter was looking dry and a few options totally missing. before ordering i had asked if they have fresh noodles and more breaded chicken strips. The young Chinese looking lady had answered that i will get everything fresh. However, then filled up my lunch box with the dry noodles from the counter tray and added on top a very small amount of chicken that was freshly made but very small quantity... asked for £6.50 before handing the box to me. i had pointed out that she took the dry noodles and that the box is only half full, but i was ignored. to avoid making a scene i paid and went away, upset feeling cheated and the noodles were dry and hard to eat.. i think that this place is going down fast and would not recommend it to anyone there are plenty of better places for lunch take away in the centre of Bristol.. see photo very...
Read moreVisited there to grab sashimi nigiri and rolls. Food came out quickly and the price was reasonable for the amount you receive. Overall, would visit again. Update: I took several takeouts from Yakinori after having two indoor visits. Takeouts are fantastic as well and fresh like indoor dining experience. If you are a busy professional or simply there are no seatings available, take out is highly recommended as well as indoor dining. The other point I wanted to make is that whoever was taking the order was honest about the wait time and apologized, ie 50 minutes on a busy Friday evening for example and not lie to you that your food will be ready in 20 or 30 min. Anyways, my impression was that they were very transparent and offered excellent quality food.
Update: Consistency in quality and taste. Personally I find prices worth the pay as the amount of food and the quality you get are easily above compared to those you find in the usual takeouts sections in various supermarkets (I found those are not cheap either anyway). Personally, I found at least the Japanese sushi and sashimi part high quality (and reasonable quantity). Personally, the only go to place for Japanese food in Bristol. Very satisfied with their work after 12...
