The Gate Cafe Bar and Deli — Restaurant in Calderdale

Went in here a while ago. Written on the door in chalk was Carrot and coriander soup at £5.95. I make a lot of soups and love a good home made one and at that price thought it would be really nice. What came was a bowl of red soup, I said to the waitress that it looked like tomato soup and I had wanted carrot and coriander, she looked at me blank and asked why I would think it was that. I replied saying it was advertised on the door. She went and asked and told me they had some and I asked if it was tinned saying the soup I had in front of me looked tinned. I visited The Gate with my wife, children and parents. The food was good, however the service from one member of staff was terrible. They had forgot two drinks and when politely asked about them she snapped back "the waitress only has one pair of hands". When challenged by her attitude she became abusive and very aggressive. We asked to speak to the manager to which she claimed she was the manager, which was not true. She then did not bring one meal and when asked argued that it wasn't ordered, and then realised it was. Don't normally eat here but the cafe I frequent was closed. They had a Lovely selection of food liked how I could choose the bread. It was very busy so had to wait a long time for order to arrive which isn't a problem (it's good to see a family run business this busy on a monday) although drinks arrived quickly so were almost gone/cold by the time food came. Found the gourmet sandwiches pricey, and the filling was scarce, the coleslaw was runny and could do with more carrots ect, so didn't look appetising.
