We wanted to like it, but unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment. Let's start with saying that staff was very nice, friendly, polite and clearly doing their best. But the whole setup just doesn't work. There was a single member of staff taking orders and doing the cooking. Disappointingly the cooking was done in a microwave (enchiladas) in plastic containers and the food was served in these plastic containers. Very unsustainable. One of our enchiladas was not hot enough in the middle and had to be zapped in the microwave again. We ordered 3 chicken enchiladas and one veggie. 2 that were supposed to have spicy sauce, didn't. Overall the food was very mushy, generic tasting, too satly and had way too much cheese on top. Enchiladas should be chrispy on the edges from the oven, there was obviously none of that. The dish needed something fresh like tomatillo salsa or tangy pickles. One good thing was that the peppers and courgettes in the veggie filling were quite big chunks. They are clearly understaffed, there was a table with a mountain of dirty dishes and empty baskets that didn't get cleared the whole time we were there. We waited over 20min for our food. And to top it off the music was too loud and there was a screeching sound coming from the speaker once in a while. I can't believe this place has 4.8 star raiting. It has potential but needs to sort some things out. Prob best to order tacos and burrito to avoid the microwave. I wonder of the quessadillas are done on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally Cambridge has a good Mexican take out! After having grown up in southern California and around the sizable hispanic population, I was lucky enough to have many Mexican friends while living there, I would often go to friends at weekends and after school and get to eat with the families. The food was normally Tortillas, beans, meat (Pork, beef, chicken) all amazingly seasoned and lots of mole, salsas and guacamole. It soon became my favourite style of cooking. Tonight was my second trip to Mr. Taco since they opened on mill rd, the Taco's are very good, on my first visit I went for 5 Tacos, 3 Steak and 2 Birria beef and it came to Ā£13.50, i had 3 steak tacos tonight and it was Ā£12 š¤š whatever the pricing, i felt I got a good deal on both occasions as the food was very good! My only criticism.... please, stop using chips out of a bag š fry some of those beautiful corn Tortillas and go for the authentic taste šš **so, 16/08/2025 and the prices have shot up! Would no longer recommend this place as they are now more expensive than all the other Mexican restaurants in Cambridge! Tortilla, Nana Mexico, Al Chile and Las Iguanas.... 3 not very big Tacos are Ā£12.20 + Ā£2 extra if you want steak in yours, bit chewy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've walked past this little corner Mexican place in Mill Road for some months now... and we finally stepped in. First impression... a simple, homely place -- unpretentious and exactly what I would expect to encounter at a roadside joint in So. California (but without the flies and oppressive heat, of course!). On this day, a Tuesday afternoon, it was a "one man band" and, not very busy. The menu is simple; Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas and Nachos -- all of these come with a selection of meats or vegetables in your preferred level of spicy heat. We shared the 3 taco plate with pulled pork and a "Wet" Burrito -- which is a burrito served on a plate with a lovely enchilada (?) sauce and sour cream on top. We added a double portion of guacamole to our order, as well. Did I mention that the sauce is amazing??? Both were amazing! Really delicious, with just the right amount of heat (medium, for us) and seasoning. Our food was made to order and very vibrant and fresh tasting... we were thoroughly pleased. We'll be back to try the quesadillas and the "Mexican...
