Spring Restaurant — Restaurant in Cambridge

Awful experience! We’ve been there once and it was enough to hate the place. I asked the waitress if I can have any of the soups with chicken instead of pork or beef and she was happy with that. Minutes later she brought me a soup with beef but I decided not to send it back. The quality of the meat was very poor as I wasn’t sure which parts of the beef I was eating…I couldn’t finish my tasteless and dodgy meal. We had also ordered some chicken wings which were cut in very small pieces (one wing cut in three small pieces) .We could only taste raw chicken and bones. In the meantime one member of the staff (probably the chef) sat next to us in the middle of the restaurant and started eating like a horse, loudly and rudely. We couldn’t stand him so we asked for the bill which was a handwritten piece of paper in Chinese. We asked for a proper receipt and we were given another handwritten piece of paper but in English this time. We were also charged an extra pound for the chicken wings as the price on the menu was different. They claimed they didn’t have a receipt machine. They don’t accept card payments....

The food was good, however we had several akward and uncomfortable moments with the staff. As one note, we waited for ages for our food. When they brought the bill, they told us the final amount and before we proceed with the payment, they forced us to add the service charge on top of it which was not stated anywhere. Furthermore, we initially chose this restaurant as they announced themselves as "Here we accept AMEX", but then when I was going to use my AMEX card, the waitress started to say that if I use the AMEX card I must give them a double service charge.

All this was really uncomfortable and I would rather preffer to go to a place where the staff have a more charming behavior. If you are not willing to accept AMEX payment, do not announce with stickers everywhere in the restaurant that you accept AMEX payments. Also, do not enforce service charge, this is really unacceptable - specially on cases where the people were not happy with...

Ordered from Deliveroo. The worst Chinese takeaway I've had in a long long time. Everything was very bland and low quality.

The half crispy duck was a joke - the duck was just cubes of breast meat in a box, so it definitely was not half a duck's worth. A crispy duck should be shreddable. It lacked taste and was not CRISPY as per the name of the dish!! The pancakes kept breaking apart, not because they were overpacked but just because they were so frail and dry and pathetic. The cucumber was basically dehydrated. Not sure what sauce we got but it wasn't any hoisin sauce I know of.

The beef hofun was bland as a whole - the meat was ok in texture but there was no classic hofun flavour.

The salt and chilli wings were the least bland but the skin was soft/soggy.

£38 for a tasteless meal. Definitely...
