Only two, would have been one if our waitress and our lovely experience and rapport with her and the table presentation along with the atmosphere weren't the saviours.
Our waitress was lovely and staff generally friendly however our visit was tainted by the attitude of the waiter who greeted us both, at different times as well so not great when two different people have the same experience. Food was half great, cauliflower tasted lovely and had lots of accompaniments, the leeks were so moreish with their whipped feta and nuts and I found the cake dessert personally subtly sweet which I liked. The other half of the food... Well toast edges so hard their knife struggles to even break an edge to cut it and mustard beans with the sausage were so saltly we each had a spoon off and had to send back. We came to understand the chef doesn't necessarily try everything they serve! Figures. Decided to order the blackberry cake dessert instead which had mixed reviews between us but that was taste on this occasion. If you wish for a sweet dessert possibly order something else.
Part way through our meal, the wine cellar was opened for a period of time while some glasses were gathered and taken out, my aunt was left freezing as this was right beside her. Maybe there can be some consideration to the people you have seated right beside it and close the door as you prep yourself in there then come out, or give someone a heads up that it's quite cold so they can move themselves. Again it was this waiter, seemingly just not great at imagining his part in the customer experience.
As we sat and continued to finish our wine after dessert, we felt watched and hurried by said waiter who just kept checking and looking at us in more of an expectant way, raising his eyebrows at one point.. Our waitress knew where we were at and we just feel he needed to communicate better there or something as he had also brought us dessert menus after we had already ordered it earlier in our night. It's a shame really as the place and night had potential and I'm sure still does, but one person can really affect an experience and the chef should probably test their food.
Also, masks or face covering of any kind not worn by staff, heads up for anyone more concerned about this...

I have been here before and found the food and service to be amazing! Thanks. I would always come again.
I was back for a wine tasting, and the ticket included 'bar snacks' which was effectively a cheese plate. The cheeses were AMAZING and I totally forgot to ask what the blue cheese was - it was delicious. Please let me know if you can.
That said a disproportionate amount of cheese was served compared to the cracker ratio. This is a frequent issue 'around town' and one I think has a fairly simple solution, and that is largely not lumping great HUNKS of cheese onto small crackers to make up for the cracker deficit - although I 100% agree the cheese should ALWAYS be the hero.
I feel like the solution is - maybe just provide a few more crackers. And particularly I feel that the solution is that if diners say, ask, for more crackers that they are not presented them with the caveat that these are going to cost extra. It puts your diners off side, and for no obvious reason, when you could just provide a more appropriate cheese to cracker ratio in the first place. You gave a 10% discount on the bill anyway - so that's basically the crackers for free.
You just end up putting people off side about your wonderful restaurant by making a big deal about some cheap crackers. I don't think it is worth it.
Look forward to coming back - sans extra cracker fees I hope!
Lol to this response.
For the record we actually ordered more food after the wine tasting. And enjoyed it. I have no hesitation recommending you for that.
But I don’t know that this response helps you. And I can’t imagine doubling down on the feedback rather than providing a few more crackers, or at least not charging extra when some are requested. For the record 5/5 people at our table felt the cracker ratio was a problem.
So I hope you can genuinely take that feedback on board with the good humor and genuine nature in which it was given. Not sure the current response defending an extra charge for a few extra crackers is...
Read moreWe went past this place a few weeks ago, and looking in the window, it looked like a really cosy place, so we booked and went there last night.
The first thing to say is the staff are super friendly and really knowledgeable about their wines.
Our lovely waitress (with the delightful name of Treasure) brought us a number of wines to taste so we could make our selection. We chose a full-bodied, Spanish red, which we loved.
The only thing we were a little disappointed with was our food choices. We chose the borek and the mackerel pate small plates.
We were advised that the borek was quite substantial, but the pastry was quite heavy (flaky pastry would have been better), and the potatoes overpowered the feta and spinach a bit too much.
The mackerel pate was better, but we didn't like the radishes too much, and the thick brown bread it was served on was too sweet.
We then decided on the meat platter and chose 3 different ones. Be aware that this is charcuterie, which wasn't made clear on the menu.
I hope the above is helpful feedback and not too critical.
It's a great place to go for an evening to enjoy wine...
