I got 4 lots of goodie bags from the to good to go app, I expected to get more in each bag than what I paid value wise not less, I would of saved half my money if I brought the items in the shop and not through the app, I'm not happy, 1st bag contained one croissant 2nd bag one choc croissant 3rd bag one sausage roll, 4th bag one tuna roll. That's it, I tried explaining to the woman that I should have 4 goodie bags, I told her I ordered 4 to good to go goodie bags and she said, you have 4 bags. The idea of to good to go is to save food waste, you get discounted food that would be thrown away at the end of the day, this food isn't at its best being that its been on display all day, but we accept that because you effectively get more food for your money, what I don't expect is paying DOUBLE for food that I can't pick myself that has been left out all day that would of been thrown out. On a side note, there seems to be some good reviews on here so I guess this was a staff issue, a one off and should not be a reflection on the company, its just so frustrating when you try to find somewhere to park at rush hour, then find out this place is on the train platform, so a ticket is needed to gain access, (unless you ask the train guards polity to let you through). Then having to try and explain to their staff who wasn't...
Read moreI ordered a Morning Too Good To Go to pick up as I changed trains this morning. Service was fast and friendly and worked well during the quick changeover, and I got a fair amount of food for the price (two pastries and a bacon and cheese turnover). The turnover was great and, by the sound of it, I imagine the pasties will be great value in the other 2G2G bags. I was asked if I had any allergies, so I imagine this is a good 2G2G bag to accommodate people.
However, both pastries were inedible. They looked good from the outside but were completely raw - the croissant was so bad that I thought that it was filled with cream or some other filling. Biting into it without realising, it tasted so foul that my guess is that it had gone rancid, and I didn't try the pain au chocolat upon seeing that it too was raw inside.
My concern is that I was served these straight from the shelf with many of the same pastries still available to be bought. There is obviously some problem with storage/baking, and these should be checked before sale since they were inedible.
Overall, I was happy with the potential and service (though I couldn't have a bag to put everything in), but there is an unavoidable issue with the pastries. I won't be buying anything from here again and I am...
Read moreWanted a quick brunch for my train journey. Found this shop on Too Good to Go app for collection between 10.30 to 11am. The "magic bag" cost 2.99 and included 1 bacon bap with option of brown sauce/mayo and to heat it up, 1 cheese and tomato croissant, and 1 sweet option of my choice (I chose an almond croissant. Would have loved a pasty but pleased with the amount of food, and how friendly the staff were. Personally, would get this again if it was a pasty or two.
Everything was good for what it was, except the bacon bap. The bun was hard and the streaky bacon was minimal and nothing special (not crispy, very thin).
Really good value when you see the prices (see photos). The manager was training the other staff member how to do my Too Good to Go order, and it seems like they offer other prices for magic bags, so if the price is more, I reckon the quantity of food will increase too,...
