Saleem Bagh Indian Dining — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Hadn't been to the Saleem Bagh Restaurant for a few years and realised it had been too long since my last trip as soon as i sat down. The restaurant was packed with diners and had a lively atmosphere which is always nice to be part of.

I ordered the chicken tikka changga for starter and coconut & coriander salmon for main which came with rice. Both starter and main tasted fresh, was a little adventurous than your normal Indian and had a good size portions.

My wife ordered the fish pakora and the murgi-laziz for main. Again both dishes were at a high standard. The meal cost us around £29 although we are not much big drinkers.

The service was friendly, prompt and i was surprised at how attentive the waiters were in bringing our drinks and taking our order. The décor was modern and had a clean feel to the place.

The only slight drawback is they don't offer free popadums which i thought they did last time.

I dont usually take time out to write a review on a restaurant but i have to say this little dining gem was such a lovely experience, the food is ever so tasty, the decor is so warm and welcoming yet still offering a great ambience.

I stumbled across it whilst out with a couple of friends and i have to say i am really glad i went in. Going to a restaurant is not just about eating but the whole dining experience and this is exactly what it did for us. The food was really delicious with an extensive menu to choose from. The starters were beautifully presented and the mains were extremely fresh with great fragrance. Would definitely recommend this place and will be going...

We visited the Saleem Bagh tonight and the Attitude of the waiter was a disgrace, we took some drinks in and he said if we didn't buy the drinks from the bar then we couldn't have the 241 offer. Food was bland not much meat, not tasty, meat was gristle!!! I won't be coming here again cheap food and one of the waiters had an attitude.. He needs to learn some manners, you don't speak to customers like that. No wonder this restaurants empty and they have to put on 2-4-1 offers!!! I for one won't be coming here again, sad really as the first time we came...
