Sonny's Street Food — Restaurant in Charnwood

The food here was fantastic. The portion sizes were so generous and everything was full of flavour. The vegetable spring rolls and prawn tempuras were perfectly crisp and light. The ingredients were clearly fresh and well prepared, we thoroughly enjoyed both starters.

For the main course we selected pad Thai and red curry, both were delicious and despite the mammoth portions we couldn’t help but to clear our plates! The Pad Thai came with a small pot of spices which really elevated the dish, it brought a warming heat and welcomed further layers of flavour. Our only complaint would be the service, we were poorly attended to. After some minutes of sitting at our empty table I had to collect our own menus and request that our order be taken. Furthermore, our starter dishes were not cleared until the main courses were being served. The servers never once checked on us during the meal which was rather disappointing. Overall, we would certainly come here again. There was no denying the food was gorgeous, hopefully next time the service will live up to the quality...

DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!! Upon my arrival, we were approached by an aggressive and loud member of staff who was extremely rude. She pointed to us to leave our umbrella in the corner and demanded us to answer whether we had booked an appointment or not and within seconds we decided to leave and not spend our money there and have dinner. Once we were leaving, the woman said "good you can leave" The woman had no customer service skills, wrong person for the job and is placed in the wrong position. Should be at the back of the restaurants out of the eyes of customers. Terrible, terrible experience! Has to be up there as one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I have had in my life. Imagine, within seconds of entering, you decide to leave that’s what happened tonight. I will be telling family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and the wider community DO NOT COME HERE!! Hopefully, the restaurant has a quick review and make some changes or they will end up like Basin going...

I recently visited Sonny Thai Restaurant for a friend's surprise birthday celebration, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. Having called hours in advance to ask if they could help with a birthday surprise, I brought the cake in early and informed the staff that I would signal when we were ready to sing "Happy Birthday."

To my dismay, when the time came, the waitresses brought the cake out in the box it came in and informed me that they do not provide such a service. Their tone was rude and dismissive, adding to the frustration of the evening. This lack of cooperation and poor attitude overshadowed what should have been a joyous occasion.

While the food at Sonny Thai has always been a redeeming factor, the consistently awful service has finally driven me away. This latest incident was the last straw. I will not be returning to Sonny Thai Restaurant, as the exceptional food is no longer worth enduring such...
