WHITE HART — Restaurant in Charnwood

Possibly my favourite place to eat. Had limited expectations when told about the the White Hart as it mainly serves “sandwiches”. However, the staff are really friendly, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the table service (covid) is quick and easy. The steak sandwich is the best I’ve ever had, they changed my order as I do not like some parts that come with it and just give me more of the stuff I like, something that should be simple but so many places over complicate. The chunky chips and fries are the best around, the seasoning is delicious. Honestly would pay more for the food, it’s always piping hot and strait out the kitchen. Husband asked the barmaid about menus at the bar, where he was served a pint. He hadn't paid for it before sitting down, which would seem to indicate that it was going to go on the food bill. We briefly read through the menu under very dim lighting conditions & quickly chose a couple of burgers at £10 each. When I went to order them, I was told that the kitchen had closed. I love this pub .. As a musician it’s a great place to see live music and also hosts my fave gig of the year. I’m not much of a drinker but I have it in good authority the beer is really good .. the choice of gins and rums is very good too.

The food is exceptional and our Christmas party lunch this year was absolutely out of this world.

This pub has something for everyone and possesses that rare thing which is a sense of community .. very much fostered by the landlord and staff.

We are blessed with some very good pubs in loughborough. But for me this is the one I would mist likely refer to...
