I’ve been to heavenly desserts many times in the past, both Loughborough and Leicester stores. Today was a disappointment to say the least.
It wasn’t particularly busy when we arrived. Tables were finishing up and leaving. We waited to be seated for a few minutes, despite the member of staff seeing us but talking into his phone. He didn’t speak to us, and only after a few minutes did he call his colleague out.
We ordered a coke and two desserts. One was a waffle with toppings. The other a piece of cake with a mochi and a shot. We were sat for 20mins before the waitress came over and told us there were no mini marshmallows for the waffle (I didn’t mind that at all). What I did mind was sitting for 40mins before the drink was brought over. I asked how much longer the food would be. The waitress went to ask and then she went behind the counter and took my waffle out of the machine. My partner was then told they didn’t have the mochi for his desert, so he changed flavour. There was no apology for any wait time, but instead was met with excuses: “it’s a new menu. There’s only two of us. We’re making your food from scratch”. I appreciate that on launch day of a menu there should be more staff and not his fault, however that doesn’t explain why it took 40mins for a drink to be brought over when all it needed was a lid taking off. The food arrived- the waffle was cold and I had asked to swap flavours of ice cream, which I didn’t get. There was no point raising this as we just wanted to leave so ate the desserts. When we went to pay and mentioned the ice cream situation so not to be charged, the two members of staff made no attempt to apologise for any of the inconvenience. They both looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but store. No smiles, no desire to talk to customers. And from the looks of other customers faces as we left, they didn’t look impressed either! I’ll seriously be considering if I go back any time soon, to...
Read moreHeavenly Desserts Loughborough left more to be desired. The first time I went, it was simply to have a scoop of gelato, and the woman serving me and my group sighed before asking what we wanted to order. She seemed very angry/annoyed/frustrated and did not want to be working there for sure. With that being said, our order was taken, and in general, the waitress was very abrupt in terms of the way that she received our order. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but it definitely made our experience not the best. I visited on a second occasion with my group and ordered waffles. I have been to Heavenly Desserts many times in other cities, but this had to be the most disappointing waffle in the sense that they barely put any sauce on it — in other cities they usually put a generous amount, so it was very strange to say the least. We also asked for tap water for the table, of which they forgot to serve it and we had to ask again. Cutlery was just chucked on the table, not set out for us as you'd usually get in a nice restaurant, same with water. There basically wasn't any proper service, it was just table delivery and then sort out the stuff yourself. Very awkward to say the least. Overall, I am giving the Loughborough branch 2 stars due to the staff behaviour, lack of proper service, quality of the food, and the general atmosphere. The general vibe is nice and the aesthetic layout is as expected, but based on my two visits, I'd rather go to a different branch, as I'd not want to deal with huffy staff or poor...
