I came to Lazy Graze this afternoon and shortly after sitting, the chair gave way and i fell down. The chair was faulty (the metal leg was at a wrong angle to the chair seat, perhaps some problems with the joint) It is a grey velvet chair with gold legs
This could have been dismissed as an unfortunate incident, but the staff response was unsafe and appalling.
The staff bent back the chair leg and placed it at the adjacent customer table !!! I told the staff : remove it else another customer will sit on it and fall down. The staff did not do this, even saying that I could use the chair again if I wanted !!!! (Of course I did not)
Unsurprisingly, another customer came in and nearly sat on that chair, only then did the staff remove the chair from the customer dining area
This incident is so appalling and unsafe that I felt compelled to write this review and mention this broken chair and the staff response
In terms of food,it is okay. We had chicken salad, chicken sandwich, flat white, hot chocolate, and shakshuka eggs. The chair incident occurred before we ordered, I did not actually want to eat here anymore, but was here with my family and we were in a hurry so we carried on...
Read moreOur first visit was on Easter Monday for afternoon tea and what a treat it was. We'd seen the good reviews and fancied a cream tea somewhere we hadn't tried before. I booked ahead and I'd advise you to do the same. You can choose between an afternoon tea and an afternoon platter, the latter has a more savoury bias, or you can choose from the excellent menu. Or just pop in and enjoy a drink and one of the tremendous home made cakes. You can see from the attached photos just how good the afternoon tea was. A good balance of savoury and sweet. Great sandwiches and toasted chicken Caesar wrap and delicious home made cakes (of which the Terry's chocolate orange cheesecake was definitely the star!). The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed and we took the time to check out the breakfast and lunch menus, which we will definitely be going back to try. Our experience turned a nice afternoon into a lovely one. This is a one off café/restaurant run by a lovely couple who deserve all the success that...

2x Latte (lovely & strong) 1x Banana Berry Smoothie 1x Lazy Graze Smoothie (both really good, and a decent size for the price too) My wife had Shakshuka (we have eaten this at a ton of places including overseas, plus I make it at home…and she said it was the best she’s had 😭 haha, very good though, she loved the bread with it too, it had a lot more substance than other recipes and it was truly great, loved how it leant more on the curried spices than the paprika)
I had the Eggs Royale and the Salmon was delicious with perfect poached egg
We both said we are excited to come back and try the Full English Lazy Graze next!
Considering everything we ordered and the very high quality of everything, we were amazed at the reasonable bill, staff were very welcoming and will 100%...
