I very rarely leave Google reviews but this ground my gears. Popped in here on rainy Monday morning as saw the window seat was empty and it appeared quiet. From the outside this looks like a lovely bakery/cafe and the pastries as you walk in look great (though crazy expensive £6-7 for a average pasty). The place was completely empty with a guy behind the counter and a girl to the rear diligently getting some other pastries ready. I ordered a fiat white and was asked drink in or take away. "I'll drink in" I replied. My luke warm coffee was then served to me a takeaway cup which I quietly shrugged off. I then asked if I could borrow a cloth to give the window table a wipe (as it looked like someone had performed some kind of satanic ritual on it). I had to repeat myself three times as the guy just looked confused and didn't seem to understand what "I want to give the table a quick wipe" meant. He then looked at his colleague with his confused expression and finally indicated to her to drop everything she was doing and wipe the table. As a former pub/restaurant manager I would say this to the owner - "it doesn't matter how nice your establishment looks from the outside if you don't take care of the basics. Clean tables, floors, cutlery and toilets. The worst thing to see when you walk into a cafe or bar or restaurant is dirty tables that haven't been cleared and wiped- people...
Read moreMe and my partner bought 2 pasties.
I ordered first; a cheese and onion pasty. The server sneezed into his hands and then handed me my pasty without washing or sanitising his hands. "Would i like anything else?" I indicated my partner is choosing. The server walks away to join his friends, playing hang man behind the till. We get his attention and ask for the chorizo, mozerella, and sea salt pasty. We are handed the pasty, no hand washing, etc, still. We pay £10 and pennies for the food. The server returns to playing hangman with his friends.
We are not provided cutlery. After taking a seat, i return to get cutlery. I have to ask 3 times before i can get attention from the server because they are playing hang man still.
The food was so so. The cheese and onion pasty was fine, but not worth £5. My partner enjoyed her pasty well enough. But she used the loo while we were there and said it was discusting and dirty.
I'm really disappointed and won't be coming back. I would steer clear of this place.
It's overpriced and currently operated by people who dont understand (or care) about food hygiene. Also, it felt awkward as a customer because the people who worked here gave me the impression they were inconvenienced...

Food - Bacon roll, lets just say for a bakery to microwave it then not good enough. But for over £3 it is better to go to Greggs next door,!!!!.
Coffee - Well they claim the best and claim superior. Eh charging over £3 for an instant cup is really not great. Nowadays decaf should be in beans and fresh and not just an instant bag from a packet. Come on guys, don't be just another chain Nero coffee house.
Time - Only one person in front of me and it took nearly 10 mins, let's just say my roil was luke warm once I finally got my coffee.
Staff - Friendly but training should be done before opening. I appreciate it's new BUT I should not have to give my order 5 times, (twice to two different people). How they cope if you had more than 3 in the queue I would hate to be there, other reviews suggest people didn't wait to find out!
Overall - Must do much better but don't panic I won't be back to find out as there is stiff competition in Chichester for coffee and you failed to stand out, I will be going elsewhere. Expensive over £6 for a small microwaved bacon roll and an instant coffee, the other places...
