Brasserie Prince has just unveiled their new Seasonal Lunch Menu, which will be available until the end of March. This tempting menu is offered from Monday to Friday, with the option of two courses for £35 or three courses for £45. I had the pleasure of indulging in the three-course option, and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat.

The menu is quintessentially French, showcasing an array of dishes that are brimming with fresh, vibrant flavours. Each course is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients. From the succulent starters to the decadent desserts, every bite transported me straight to a Parisian bistro.

The menu is beautifully curated, offering a selection of three starters, three mains, and three desserts. We began our culinary journey with the starters.

For a taste of tradition, try the Jambon Persillé, a flavourful Ham Hock Terrine that's a true French classic. Or, dive into the Brandade de Morue, a delightful blend of salt cod and potato that transports you straight to the coastal regions of France.

I personally opted for the Velouté du Barry, a creamy and elegant cauliflower soup garnished with herb croutons and crunchy pieces of cauliflower. This velvety soup was a soothing start, with its rich texture and delicate flavours beautifully complemented by the crunchy, aromatic croutons. Each dish on this menu promises a delightful start to what is sure to be an unforgettable meal.

Moving on to the main courses, there are a couple of enticing options that promise a delightful dining experience.

I opted for the Navarin de Poulet, a hearty dish of braised chicken. This comforting classic features tender chicken slow-cooked with carrots, beans, and potatoes in a rich, savoury cassoulet. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavours and textures, with the succulent chicken and tender vegetables creating a dish that is both satisfying and delicious. This course, with its robust and homely flavours, is a true testament to the joys of French cuisine.

I chose the Crème Brûlée with Madagascan Vanilla. This classic dessert, with its creamy custard base and perfectly caramelized sugar topping, is elevated by the exquisite flavour of Madagascan vanilla. The first crack of the caramelized sugar gives way to the smooth, vanilla-infused custard beneath, creating a symphony of textures and tastes that is simply divine. This elegant dessert is a fitting end to a spectacular meal, leaving a lasting impression with its rich flavours and delicate presentation.

For drinks, indulge in the Pear and Spice, a cocktail that balances the sweet, mellow notes of pear with a warming hint of spices, creating a cosy and delightful drink perfect for the season. Or, try the Mulled Wine Sunset, a cocktail that blends the traditional flavours of mulled wine with a creative twist, offering a rich and comforting drink that evokes the essence of winter evenings. Each sip transports you to a world of festive flavours, making it the ideal way to unwind and savour the season.

The staff here are truly outstanding. Their service is seamless and polished, with an almost intuitive understanding of exactly when you require their assistance. It's as if they have a sixth sense for anticipating your needs, ensuring a flawless and professional experience from start to finish.

Brasserie Prince has truly outdone themselves, offering a dining experience that is both elegant and delightful. If you're a lover of French cuisine or simply appreciate fine dining at wallet friendly prices, this seasonal lunch menu is an...

I unfortunately have to retract my previously positive review. I visit this place quite often for a few drinks and to chill, but last night I was REFUSED ENTRY! at 17,45 and with plenty of empty tables!

I called at Prince at 17,45 asking for a quick table for one. I was told they were taking only reservations and no walk-ins that night. I tried to say I would be quick, the person at the door (a gentleman) repeated and even said "AS I SAID, we are only taking reservations tonight".

I was appalled. It was 17,45, a lot of the tables were empty and I have been at this place before on Fridays and Saturdays as a walk-in at even busier times and they have always found me a spot, if not, they offered a spot at the bar. I have never noticed particularly well-dressed people in this environment. I, myself, have never come here dressed as if I were going to the gala.

BUT, you know what? Last night I was wearing the coat in the picture, with jeans and loafers. My hair was tied up in a ponytail and I was wearing no make-up. I guess I didn't look glamorous? Not feminine enough? With a big chunky coat and jeans?

I am appalled. I wasn't born yesterday.

This doesn't seem to me like the country where appeareances matter (and, for that one, there's jeans fetching at £2000....). Do they treat in the same way someone who might have saved the entire month or year to come treat themselves there? Just because they're not fancily appearing?

It just feels horrible to be discriminated against. On top of that, I was and am depressed and wanted to just have a chill time in a place I kinda...

Nothing about the service would lead you to believe you were in the Balmoral. We weren’t able to get into the tasting room so we had our various scotches to try in the Prince. When the drinks were immediately set down, one of our drinks accidentally was spilled while looking for a pen to document our individual tasting. Not only did the waiter not clean it up, we had to go to the bar to get napkins for us to clean it. The empty spilled glass and the pile of napkins were left on our table until we were completely finished. The waiter eventually returned with a replacement drink. Our waters were forgotten until we were almost finished. Our bill was 76 pounds for our 4 drinks, plus the spilled drink. When I inquired with the manager, because the waiter said nothing about the bill and when I asked he said I needed to talk to his supervisor. None of these conversations happened at the table because he put the bill down with no explanation. I had to walk to the waiter, then he pointed the general direction of the supervisor. The supervisor not only seemed pleased that his solution was to charge for the spilled drink with a discount of 2 pounds off that drink (about 10% discount), his rationale seemed to be apparent when he said “who spilled the drink…you?” Nothing about this experience seemed in alignment with...

This week, we enjoyed lunch at the Brasserie Prince to take advantage of their 'Dine Out To Help Out More' menu (a special menu they have running throughout September). We knew it would be a 3-course meal, however, what we didn't realise was that there would be 2 options per course to choose from. So, when we sat down and read the menu, the smartest option was to order both menu items from each course, so that we could have a taste of everything and avoid making the tough decision on what to have! The taste of each dish was amazing, exactly the quality you would expect from a restaurant within The Balmoral, but what we were most pleasantly surprised by during our dining experience was the portion size. Usually, high-end dining carries with it the stigma of small, unfilling plates, however, this could not be less the case with Brasserie Prince. When you consider that all 3 courses are only £20pp (normally £30pp), it's a steal! The service provided by each member of staff we encountered was impeccable, whether it was topping up our wine and water glasses in the restaurant, explaining parts of the menu to us that we weren't too sure about, or providing recommendations for drinks at the bar - we couldn't fault them and they most certainly made our trip even more memorable.
