I visited this shop on a Monday afternoon to grab a medium hot chocolate. This shop is so peaceful and quiet. And very nice atmosphere if you wanna study or have a nice wee catch up. Although, the staff seemed pretty slow. Only one girl woth trainee tshirt behind the bar. Which was lovely because she definitely knows what she does. And excellent service. BUT! I waited 16' exactly for this hot chocolate. I had time to wait but didn't know is gonna take 1/4 of an hour to collect a hot chocolate. The person Infront of me had 3 drinks and 2 cakes for take away. So...not that busy. Eventually the queue built up as this took ages.. 10' after I joined the queue, I saw another barista approaching the bar. And k thought oh nice. My turn. NOPE. he literally came and he was looking at the cake display. Not a single smile or anything. Very dissapointing. I will go back for another chance but definitely not if im i dont have time to waste. I hope it was just a bad day and they dont work like this...
Read moreI love to treat myself in Caffe Nero from time to time but most of the ones in the main city centres are always busy and its hard to get a seat. Whilst on a solo trip to Edinburgh, I was wandering around, and my Google maps led me to this little haven of tranquility!... Tucked away from the main areas, this Nero is in a lovely quiet setting, and it is a great size! Plenty of seating areas, I chose a comfy chair by the window, but there are larger tables if you wish to study, research etc. I took my order and settled down with my kindle to read. What a blissful hour and a half I spent... So chilled and comfortable, I could feel myself nodding off. There are a good few tables and chairs outside too, which some folk enjoyed whilst I was there. This will definitely be my "go to" Nero on my next little solo jolly...
Read moreI know coffee chains are usually known for their convenience and efficiency over the actual taste and quality of coffee, but this Caffè Nero is an amazing exception to these generalisations. I do not think I’ve had a better vanilla latte in the past few weeks than at this location - the strongest coffee flavour out of any chain cafe I’ve been to Edinburgh which is really saying something. The interior is very nice and spacious, amazing for catching up with friends or doing some light reading, and the Quartermile location is great (though it is slightly hidden off the main road). The only downside was that they didn’t have wifi, but I honestly think the coffee is good enough to justify popping by on the way to school or simply hotspotting myself. Final thoughts: best Caffè Nero in...
