PART ONE of my review : you have to forgive me the only one star, this vote is for only a member of the staff that honestly I am fed up with, this Costa is lovely, and I go there every day for breakfast, the Baristas are very nice too, a part from one : there is a girl ( dark skinned, curls in a bun, glasses - this is only for reference for her managers to recognize her, now that I am writing this review) that works in the mornings, not all the mornings thank goodness, I can make a list of episodes now happening in that costa, and after today I can`t not complain. I am going to describe only the last two experiences.
I entered Costa, few days ago. I was on the phone in a rush, I ask for my usual coffee, and she “taking in or taking away” and I say “ taking away” aiming at the door with my face, didn
t say it too loud cause I am also on the phone, but I am Italian and when I talk I gesture a lot, so even a kid could understand what I am saying, she fakely smiles asking to repeat, knowing to be annoying because she is asked quite few times, and I say take away again looking at the door, at some point I take off my phone and say "TAKE AWAY" and she, smiling satisfied that I had to repeat it again: “you either talk to me or on the phone” …scuse me, what ??????????????????????? I am shocked by an answer like this from a person who serves coffees for customers and should show kindness especially in the very morning. But the story is not finished: the girls serves 4-5 people that paid AFTER ME, since I was on the phone in a urgent call in the morning, until I asked her guy colleague, “scuse me, may I know why did I pay ages ago and everybody is served before me?” and the rude girl behind the counter still smiling satisfied says : “you are talking on the phone, thats why you have not heard” ?????????????????????????????? she had put my coffee on the counter without saying that was mine, she honestly NEVER said that was my coffee on purpose and she made me lose at least 10 minutes and I lost my bus only because this immature not professional at all worker, only to spite me? And for what? Are we joking? I said to her “no, I have looked at you all the time not to miss it, and you havent nominated once my coffee” and she talked over me, with this satisfied smile on her face (satisfied especially once I keeping saying I havent heard her so its my fault I haven’t picked it up. First of all, if for real a customer wouldnt have heard, you insist more than once to get their attention, otherwise and it is unprofessional to not look around and see who is missing their orders, and the coffee becomes cold but no worries – it was so burned it wouldnt become cold for another 15 minutes. Secondly, if you do it on purpose you are evil. I can guarantee that it made her very happy to disturb an habitual customer. But the episodes aren’t finished : today I go to Costa and unfortunately there is her again. I even say 'good morning' to her like I always do with evil and 'crazy' people to start with a new fresh chapter, thinking always that if I am nice first, they will change and benice too.
It doesn`t work with this unprofessional barista.
I ask for my coffe and say “please” and she almost throws the card machine without asking if I needed my receipt and doesnt answer not even once to what I am saying/asking. She makes the coffee without saying, once again, that my coffee is ready and instead of pushing it towards me, SHE PUT IT ON THE COUNTER FAR WHERE I HAVE TO ALMOST KNEEL AND LOWER MYSELF TO GET THE COFFEE, and it was BOILING HOT like, not even a person that never had done coffees could burn a coffee like that. You are the barista and you have to make the experience in the café nice, not nasty and difficult. Having almost to climb down to pick that boiling unpleasant 3 pounds cappuccino that in front of costa costs half and you are welcomed with a smile. These two episodes are small and are the last ones, but there are others, that are not worth any more time for me to describe. Basically if she doesnt like a customer this is the treatment. Honestly, I do not go to Costa anymore if I have to pay more for being treated as if it was better if I hadn`t gone, paying to enter a café with a mood and go out with another when she is there, and does something rude!!!
I hope this review will be seen, and that the managers can at least talk to her and maybe let her do another time a training on how to deal with people in hospitality, and that she sorts out her issues or that she leaves them behind her when she starts a day of work, because continuing like this will only ruin the name of Costa and that actual little cute Costa shop that taking her out, is lovely. If we have to talk about the other Baristas, they do the extra mile to serve their customers and make them feel welcomed in that cute...
Read moreWhen I went to this Costa coffee on Saturday 5h Feb and I had a very unpleasant experience. The lady from the till named Jess as it was printed on the receipt she gave was not nice to me and my friend. When ordering, I wanted to have a chai latte tea as I do love them very much, it was a bit noisy there and I was not able to hear properly when she told me that the chai was out of stock, Jess didn’t make any effort at all to try to speak more clear to me, however she did speak louder and very impolitely. I found it very rude and with a lack of courtesy. Very disappointed to be treated like that and surprised that Costa has staff with such a poor of customer services.I would like to add that she didn’t have her badge with her name on it. When we got served, there were not clean tables in the whole restaurant and we had to take the dirty cups and move them ourselves. There were 3 staff there and there was not queue of people waiting to be served so they were not busy under my point of view. The staff was clearly lazy and didn’t care much about if there were not clean tables available for customers. Whoever is the manager there, should look after more the store and teach manners to the staff. This is a bad reputation for a very well known...
