I went yesterday morning and tried to order at the counter with the food as usual but was told that I should order at the other counter because they had changed the system, fair enough! So did that but had to wait longer due to others now being in front of me. What annoyed me was that whilst I was then waiting for my order they served 4 people at the counter I was told I couldn't order at!! Explain that please. No complaints about the food as that was fantastic as usual. Hopefully Fox will see this review and next time you'll just serve me. you'll know who I am because in the time I was there I was the only person told to go to the other counter. Maybe being a bit petty here but was really put out.
Response to owner. Yes they were there but the 4 separate customers i mentioned were served at the counter I was told that I couldn't use and they all came in whilst I was waiting on my order and I watched them order and pay. So you deserve the 2 stars for your service and no your signs are not clear as there was a few people left unsure of the process. Consistancy is what you need. Read moreI’ve been coming to this little café in Edinburgh’s West End for over 16 years, and it’s still one of my absolute favourites. The food is always fresh, delicious, and consistently excellent and incredible value for money! What makes it even more special is the atmosphere. The team here are full of personality, and the banter is always good-natured, lighthearted, and fun. The hot counter staff and hunky owner dont hurt ;) As for the crowd, I’ve never experienced anything but a friendly mix of locals and passers-by enjoying their lunch. It feels like a proper community spot, where people look out for each other and enjoy a laugh alongside their meal. If you’re after great food, great people, and a place with real character, this café is a gem. Five stars...
Read moreWent in today for the first time in my life as I just started my new job round the corner. The queue was massive but I got through it quickly. I got there and I was rushed to make a choice which is understandable, then once I ordered a quiche, the lady asked if I wanted it warm or cold which I didn't hear at all (the place was rammed and loud) so I asked to have it with salad too. The lady literally raised her voice repeating 'warm or cold????' Which I got quite intimidated by. She seemed to be annoyed by me and by the fact that there was a massive queue, which is fair enough, however there's ways to address messages to customers other than shouting at them. The food was really nice in the end, shame...
