Kaji sushi and ramen — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Visited this new outfit today with the family. Run by an efficient team of friendly, Nepalese hosts.

The building smells a little of damp and the facilities are somewhat dated, but don’t let that put you off for a second: the food was excellent.

The sushi was incredible. Freshly made, vibrant colours. Poke bowl was beautifully made and super tasty. Yakisoba was very good. Teriyaki rice bowl was a highlight for me.

The chefs are experts, portions are large and satisfying. What more could you want?

They were offering a 10% discount on menu prices, I guess an introductory offer, which meant a fantastic price for a lovely meal.

The kitchen is part of the dining area and you can watch the chefs at work, which was nice. Unfortunately, they were listening to terrible pop hits at high volume through a tiny, tinny speaker. I couldn’t figure out if was intentional or accidental that said pop hits were blasting out across the restaurant, but the choice of music was out of place amongst the prunus blossom and the Japanese decor. Grates the nerves and sadly spoiled the ambience.

It’s not licensed, so don’t expect Ichiban or Asahi. Doesn’t seem to be BYOB either. Fridge was stacked with coke, water and a number of interesting looking juice drinks.

Nous y sommes allés la 3e journée après l'ouverture de ce nouveau restaurant (2025/09/11).

Ma conjointe avait remarqué cette petite place là veille en se baladant. Nous avons décidé de l'essayer pour le souper de ce soir.

Excellente accueil lors de notre arrivé. Tout semble bon, puis après discussion nous avons opté pour l'assiette de sushis 32mcx que nous allions partager à deux. Nous avons opté pour le choix du chef.

Lorsque l'on a reçu l'assiette, immédiatement nous avons remarqué le soin pour la préparation (souci du détail, ainsi que la qualité des aliments.

Après avoir goûté la première bouché, OUFFFF que c'était excellent (apparence, goût, cuisson, texture)!

Après le repas, nous nous sommes laissé tenté par le dessert proposé par le serveur, soit une crêpe garniture au thé et une crêpe garniture au chocolat noir. Lorsque les assiettes sont arrivées, la présentation était superbe et le goût que dire si ce n'est que la continuité dans l'excellence et un goût très appréciable et pas trop sucré. C'était juste WOW!

Nous avons complimenté la qualité de notre repas, service et expérience. J'ai d'ailleurs comparé le repas tout entier à un délicieux dessert où on aimerait bien en avoir plusieurs fois par jour et par semaine!

Je vous le recommande plus que fortement pour la fraîcheur des aliments utilisés, le goût, le prix et tout le reste. Je mettrais plus un 6/5 si je le pouvais. Hummm, a essayer absolument.

Avant de repartir pour le Canada dans quelques jours, nous y retournerons c'est certain pour essayer le poker bowl, même si j'ai envie de reprendre les sushis choix du chef comme la première fois.

SUPERB DISCOVERY ❤️❤️🍣🍥❤️❤️

We went there on the third day after the opening of this new restaurant (2025/09/11).

My partner had noticed this little place the day before while walking around. We decided to try it for dinner tonight.

We were greeted with an excellent welcome upon our arrival. Everything seemed good, and after some discussion, we opted for the 32-piece sushi platter, which we would share between two. We opted for the chef's choice.

When we received our plate, we immediately noticed the care taken in its preparation (attention to detail), as well as the quality of the food.

After tasting the first bite, WOW, it was excellent (appearance, taste, cooking, texture)!

After the meal, we were tempted by the dessert offered by the server: a crepe with a tea filling and a crepe with a dark chocolate filling. When the plates arrived, the presentation was superb, and the taste, what can I say except that it continued to be excellent, with a very pleasant, not too sweet taste. It was simply WOW!

We complimented the quality of our meal, the service, and the experience. I even compared the entire meal to a delicious dessert that we would love to have several times a day and a week!

I highly recommend it for the freshness of the ingredients used, the taste, the price, and everything else. I would give it a 6/5 if I could. Mmm, a must-try! Absolutely.

Before leaving for Canada in a few days, we'll definitely be back to try the poker bowl, although I'm tempted to try the chef's choice sushi again, just like the first time.

We ( me and my husband and 2 children)went to kaji sushi around 7 pm and firstly we tried The fried sushi. it was delicious – crispy on the outside with a juicy, well-seasoned chicken filling inside. Six pieces were just the right portion as a starter. The ramen came in a generous bowl, with plenty of noodles and toppings. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too salty, and it was very satisfying as a main dish. The service was friendly, and the food was served promptly.
