My friend wanted to go to Starbucks, but I insisted we go to a local business. We came in looking for coffee and a little food. While the owner, Donald, was waiting patiently, we perused the menu, and while changing our selection between the tempting eggs & bacon, my friend and I finally both decided on the scrambled eggs & cheese on sourdough. We sat down and waited for our order. The ambiece was delightful, with a soft-volume 80's music playing and a general liveliness of the place. Our food came after only a couple minutes. We had our food, and it was probably the best eggs on toast to memory! Such a simple dish, but it was memorable. What really impressed me was the engagement from Donald and Tracy, the owners. This is definitely a place to stop in for coffee takeaway, but to eat in the quaint cafe is what community and travel is all about. I obviously highly recommend everyone go to Sandwich Culture!

we popped in here on the way back from holiday October 2023. as a weary traveller, this happened to be a fantastic stop, had the pastrami toasted baggette and it was delicious. not only that think the owner is possibly one of the nicest people ive ever had the pleasure to chat to. he gave us some free banana bread for the rest of our travels. a true gent. such a lovely touch. if im ever back in Edinburgh, i'll stop in here again thats for sure. ;)

The shop is run by the sweetest couple and sits right across from Haymarket Station. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel welcome. The sandwiches are out of this world, packed with generous fillings and just the right amount of sauce. The bread comes warm from the oven, perfectly crisp on the outside yet soft inside, never too dry. I can already see myself coming back again and again until I’ve tried every single flavor.

walked in here on way to station was very pleased with the amount of veg options as a baptised sikh eating meat is forbidden to us i commented on this and said it was great in response to this the guy said we do try I ordered a bree spinach and cranberry paying I changed the cranberry to pesto and added onions I then left to go get my train bit into my sandwich to find i was eating bacon which is not an inconvenience it is a huge sin in my religion I then had to miss my train to take this back i was offered another I declined asking for my money back i asked for an explanation the guy said I must not have heard due to traffic now I can accept the mistake but to lie about it is showing he had a convo with me about how nice it is to find a place with a selection of veg options to say he wasn't aware I was a vege is simply untrue I welcome a response from the eatery to put them in picture I now have to go to a ceremony to retake my religious vows thanks to...

Went for the first time, the folks working there were helpful and polite. Really pleasant couple! The sandwich selection was fantastic, I could barely choose which I wanted to eat. The ingredients were good and the portions were generous. The prices are in line (if not slightly below) the area. I got an iced coffee and I know it’s a small thing but the straw was made out of something eco friendly but not paper. It makes such a difference for whatever reason to not have to deal with the straw disintegrate while I’m enjoying my coffee. Just an example of the attention to detail I appreciated.

I’m definitely making that my regular lunch spot when I’m...
