Tucked away in the bustling streets of Edinburgh, Let Me Eat is a charming eatery that caters to those seeking a delightful vegan dining experience. With an extensive menu offering mouth-watering dishes and a cozy atmosphere, this little gem proves that vegan food is not only healthy but also incredibly satisfying and delicious.
Upon arrival, I was immediately drawn to the warm and inviting ambiance of Let Me Eat. The restaurant's rustic decor, with its wooden furniture and vibrant artwork, creates a welcoming space that encourages diners to relax and savor the flavors of the vegan cuisine on offer. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service and making me feel right at home.
The menu at Let Me Eat boasts a variety of vegan delights, ranging from hearty soups and sandwiches to indulgent desserts. I opted for the falafel wrap and minestrone soup, both of which surpassed my expectations.
The falafel wrap was a true masterpiece, with each element coming together in perfect harmony. The falafel itself was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, packed with a medley of spices that tantalized my taste buds. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and crunchy, while the tangy tahini sauce added a delightful creaminess to the wrap. All of this was encased in a soft and warm flatbread that held everything together beautifully.
As for the minestrone soup, it was a comforting bowl of deliciousness that truly warmed my soul. The soup was brimming with a variety of vegetables, beans, and pasta, all cooked to perfection in a rich and flavorful tomato-based broth. The subtle hints of fresh herbs and spices elevated the dish to new heights, making it one of the best minestrones I have ever tasted.
To round off my meal, I couldn't resist trying one of Let Me Eat's delectable vegan desserts. I chose a slice of their chocolate cake, which was moist, decadent, and just the right amount of sweet. It was the perfect ending to a truly satisfying dining experience.
In summary, Let Me Eat is a must-visit restaurant for anyone seeking a scrumptious vegan meal in Edinburgh. The diverse menu, coupled with the warm atmosphere and exceptional service, make it a dining destination that you'll want to return to again and again. Whether you're a committed vegan or simply curious to try plant-based cuisine, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Let Me Eat ā your taste buds...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely post negative reviews to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but I wouldnāt want anyone to feel as disappointed as I did today so here goes... I specifically came here because of the rave reviews and vegan options on offer. I ordered the vegan haggis panini but after a couple of bites, didnāt really want to continue eating it, which is rare for me. the haggis filling was basically like an uncooked lentil burger, extremely spicy with little flavour & texture, and the onions were undercooked. such a first world issue but it is a let down to spend time, money (and calories?) on bland food... I was expecting more of a flavourful mock meat affair? perhaps I should have ordered the vegan sausage wrap with cheese & pesto #regrets - either way, maybe mention on the menu that the haggis is lentil based so we know what to expect. the only upside of eating it was that it was very healthy, with no oil or fat or salt (or flavour lol) - otherwise, I would have been better off grabbing a baguette from Boots or Sainsburyās for half the price. I ended up leaving with an unfulfilled panini craving and the taste of disappointment in my mouth. Brutal, but that was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLong time customer who has been to this cosy cafe many times. While the food is always a great experience at Let me Eat too.
Since recently bringing on new members of staff the quality of the coffee has dropped by quite a bit. Three times recently I've stopped by for a latte in a morning. And two of those three have been very disappointing , tasting like nothing more than some home made instant with milk. The third was great, made by who I believe is the owner of the store. I'm all for supporting local cafes but when the quality of my drink depends entirely on which member of staff makes it, it makes me want to avoid going back.
I'll round this out on a positive note saying that the service and atmosphere in the cafe are lovely. It's always quick and it's a cosy vibe in the store. I just hope they are able to get all the staff brought up to the same level of training for the drinks compared to the owners as I'll be avoiding buying coffee...
