4.5 stars if I could. I was skeptical at first but overall, pretty good experience! Great food, professional service, pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend for dates and large groups alike. Went here for my friends birthday in may with 20 people (!!) and they handled it so well. We had to pre-order from their huge menu (generally red flag) and everyone got a variety of things. When we arrived, they greeted us and promptly served everyone's food at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised ! Their pizza had a crispy crust with delicious sauce and toppings. The risotto alla salsicca was al dente and uniquely flavored. Pastas were delicious but some had mixed reviews. Those who ordered the tomato dishes were surprised it was so chunky (lots of cherry tomatoes). I (personally) would have loved it. Their carbonara was a little greasy (photo). Cannelloni had too much sauce for the pasta there. Otherwise no complaints. For the volume they prepared and the efficiency they delivered with, its more than acceptable. Their bruscetta was genuinely amazing, I had no idea it could taste that good. Lasagna was great and piping hot to those that got it. One friend ordered a seafood dish and praised the fresh scallops and shrimp. Dishes seem to be inconsistent in size among similar categories, so do ask if you're feeling peckish. Was pleased with their alcohol section. Three Grappa to choose from alongside the usual suspects (Limoncello, Peroni, Italian wines..). May come again for a nice...

If you're in Edinburgh and looking for the taste of Italy, Mamma Roma is definitely the place you need to head to. With a menu overflowing with authentic Italian delicacies and cuisine, and service that is attentive and friendly, this place is the ultimate destination for food lovers.

From the first bite, you will be transported to the streets of Italy, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavour. The pizza toppings are flavorful and the pasta dishes have a perfect balance of taste and texture. The sauces are all made freshly using only the best ingredients, and you can taste the difference in every bite.

The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes of the dishes on offer at Mamma Roma, making it an affordable spot to visit for both lunch and dinner. You'll be astonished at how reasonably priced the dishes are considering their top-notch taste!

In summary, if you're in Edinburgh and craving an authentic Italian meal, Mamma Roma is a fantastic alternative. Its broad menu of mouth-watering delicacies, attentive service and reasonable prices make for an unforgettable dining experience, one that you will want to come back to time and time again. Highly recommended, it's...

I dined at this restaurant today. According to several online ranking reviews, this Italian restaurant is renowned for its sophistication. It boasts a location in a prime area and even features a few handsome waiters. I was pleasantly surprised to find Rocchetta naturale and fizzante water available, which is somewhat uncommon in Italian restaurants in Edinburgh, implying a level of authenticity.

For starters, we ordered calamari, meatballs, and soup, all of which were remarkably delicious. One small suggestion would be to toast the bread served with the soup, as the toasted bread accompanying the meatballs was notably superior to the untoasted version accompanying the soup.

For the main course, we indulged in the seafood platter and pasta, both of which were impeccably prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. The tiramisu dessert was a delightful conclusion to the meal, elegantly presented in a visible glass.

What I particularly appreciated was that the service charge was discretionary and not automatically added to the bill. This gave me the opportunity to express my gratitude by offering a service charge as the staff members were notably courteous and...
