I ordered from Shezan via Deliveroo on 9th Sept, and when I opened the order the naan was missing. These things do happen, it's fine, so I called the restaurant to try to get it sorted. Instead of getting an apology or any type of offer to fix the problem, I received a torrent of complaints about how much Shezan dislikes Deliveroo, how the person I spoke to didn't trust the Deliveroo driver as soon as he saw him, how he couldn't be trusted to take two orders at one time, and on and on. Now, I also received double for two small items in my order, and there was plenty of room in the bag I was given for a naan, so I am not so sure it wasn't the restaurant who made a mistake with the order. Anyway, I just kept listening to this string of complaints expecting it would eventually come round to something like, "and we're very sorry this happened" but instead I was just told I should order directly from the restaurant. I then asked if I could have a refund, since no amends had been suggested, and was told I had to sort it out with Deliveroo myself. I started to get irritated and then got to listen to more complaints about how the restaurant would have to contact Deliveroo too. After a bit of back and forth (and lots more complaining about Deliveroo) the person I spoke to offered 15% off a meal if I came in. I said thank you. But why on earth would I ever want to give custom to this restaurant again? The customer service is terrible. Also, if they hate Deliveroo that much... maybe don't use them? Just a thought. All I wanted was a friendly person on the phone to say, "I'm so sorry, that shouldn't have happened, here's how you can get a refund and/or we can very quickly get another naan out to you before your food gets cold since you're only a half mile away. Don't worry, we'll sort it." But instead he wanted me to be sympathetic to him and listen forever to him moan about Deliveroo, and just sort out the problem myself... and then come back and give his restaurant more business. Nah, that won't be happening. For what it's worth, the food that did arrive was pretty decent but also...
Read moreGood to go restaurant especially for Indian food. Food is definitely delicious and pleasant...one can totally satisfy their craving for Indian food...and ambiance is pretty cozy too. Servers are very friendly, nice and well behaved. Some of them were from South India, and we had some great talks about Rajnikant and stuff!
I just love the way how few people get excited when they spot their native Indian friends, even if we are from different part, being Indian is more than enough to feel connected...
However, please note that if you are new to restaurant, and you are looking for eating Naan (Naan is a leavened, oven-baked/ tandoori baled flatbread, which is usually paired with gravy vegetables), especially in Europe, just ask them about the pieces that 1 naan servings has, or the size of 1 Naan.
We were 3 people and taking our past experience into consideration and even after asking them about size and pieces, we cared not to consider it, and we ordered two Naans.
So, what exactly happened? Well, since Europeans have better diet in comparision to Indians (or the three Indians that acted naive there), the plated dish has also more quantity served there.
And when our naan was plated we were in a big shock! One naan had actually 9 pieces of Indian servings ( or usually what we have seen in Indian Restaurants) so you can imagine a total of 18 pieces of naan for three of us...amusing right....we and our parents back at home had a great laugh about that..yeah...only after the incident had happened, because at that moment we had all kinds of expressions amd emotions...so just be careful as to...
Read moreWalked in and staff said 'we will get you a table just have a seat', no mention of how long it would be. No one then came back over for around 15/20 minutes, lots of tables empty but I appreciate they were probably booked. We then asked how long would this table take- as we would happily have gone somewhere else at this point, to which the guy said he would find out but then never returned. We sat there hangry for around 30/40 minutes, which we wouldn't have done if we initially knew it would have taken this long. Anyway, got some poppadums' brought pretty quick which was good, but then the main took over an hour to come out, kind of started thinking about just getting it to go since we felt like we had been in this place forever! So many members of staff walking around, but none being attentive to us. Was difficult to get anyone's attention for the bill. Then our card, ready for payment next to the bill, sat on the table for over 15 minutes while we sat with our jackets on, with servers just walking past it and instead chatting together at the bar. Not great. And definitely not good if you are on a time-budget with the cinema planned for after your meal! I normally like this place as food is pretty decent, but a little expensive for the terrible service. I appreciate it was a weekend though- so a busy time, but they had lots of staff on and could have just communicated the wait for a...
