Piccalilli — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

I only arrived in Edinburgh this afternoon and thankfully, having found Tesco Metro, after 8pm, I also then found Piccalilli. With such a warm welcome, with couples and groups enjoying themselves, the owner made me a cheese board for one ~ exquisite cheese board, fruit, chutney, crackers and piccalilli! She was able to talk me through each cheese and where it comes from, which was a fab detail. Along with a wonderful non-alchololic wine (which I wasn't expecting). I was so happy to happen upon such a great place for my first dinner in town. Thank you Piccailli team...

We went for a girls chilled evening. I loved the space which pairs vintage furniture with spacious tables and a fine, airy atmosphere. The menu sports only a cheese platter and a deli meat platter. It's a simply and winning idea for me as I didn't have to read a long menu but just say yes to cheese and meats.
