Puffin' Rooms - Edinburgh — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Having been to all of the Cgars lounges in England, including the Puffin Rooms in Liverpool. I was disappointed with my visit to the Puffin Rooms in Edinburgh.

Generally speaking, you get a warm welcome and a comfortable setting with the other venues in the chain. When I visited there were no other customers and it took a while to get attention. Being a LCDH there are only Cubans available, which is not generally an issue, but the £60 stick I had didn’t smoke great (but not enough to warrant a complaint). The lighter provided was one that burns your finger each time you use it. It was windy and the canopy had a lot of movement in it. One bug bear was the metal on metal noise at floor level near the door, easy to fix and it wouldn’t have sounded like someone was ringing a ships bell.

On leaving I was told the coffe wasn’t complementary. Unlike at their other stores (inc Liverpool) and unlike the lounges in London (JJ Fox etc..).

The guy serving didn’t have great customer service and could have read the room a bit better.

For context, the Liverpool store (the best in the chain imo), Leeds, Knutsford and London shops are regular visits for me. They are, in general, splendid. For balance, I will review the next time I visit. It’s always the same, that a disappointing review goes on before a pleasant one.

Outstanding place finally a place where you can enjoy a cigar in this country. The only country in Europe where you are restricted from so many things. Drugs are everywhere and alcohol seems to be consumed at the highest possible level in the entire Europe, but when it comes to cigars o my goodness the councill will attack this kind of place.
